I don't see that what you think has anything to do with what happened. I do see the Georgia AG saying there was someone present, which is SO much more credible than anything you've decided based on a few minutes of CCTV footage that the discussiion ends there.

The votes/surge happened with observers purposely removed. They broke the law counting those votes at that time with no transparency or someone to validate their authenticity.

A call for an audit is not the same as a government official announcing that there will be a legally scheduled audit.

Go ahead and find a law that says observers authenticate anything.

Lots of links to responses from officials and some quotes. It is certainly possible observers were told that they were shutting down soon, but obviously not required to leave. You can see them and press staying around for another 30 minutes or so after the time the announcement is said to have taken place by the presenting lawyer. There is at least no video segment shown where they were escorted out by security or anything. Based on the quote from Sterling:

That seems corroborated by the video as you can see the man in red on the phone before they start scanning again, where he goes to the group and says something to them, just before they start getting out containers and continuing scanning. It's something I considered mentioning in my original post, that the call could have been them getting told to continue working, or he could be saying something to the effect of "sorry, not going to make it to dinner tonight".

Given what we know, I think the most likely answer is that there was a miscommunication where the person who addressed the observers (who was a scanner) was under the impression they were stopping all activities, and communicated that to observers and the press. But was then notified later, after the press and observers had left, that in fact they were being asked to continue scanning what they had for the night.

Of course, to the partisan, that is just "more lies by liberal fraudsters", or something to that effect.
