If they broke down the doors and forced everyone into hiding and had to be removed. Your sugar coating of this is flawed at best.

    WRONG.

Take your "whataboutism" to another thread.

If "Hey, Lookie over here!" is all that you have for "rebuttal" or "defense" to Trump inciting a Deadly Domestic Terror Attack, then you may want to consider a different set of "talking points"

Which section of US Code are you talking about? You can't answer, can you? Is that because you don't know?

It's not a "whataboutism". We're debating whether a charge of "sedition" is appropriate or not. Try to keep up.

It depends entirely on intent. If the intent was to disrupt, no. If the intent was to destroy the votes or otherwise threaten the legal transfer of power, yes.

Proving this isn't impossible. Depends what evidence is available.

I'll ask you the same question that @mdrobster has been unable to answer: which section of US Code are you envisioning charging them under? Please be specific.

BTW, @ChiCowboy in light of your apparent position on yesterday's protest, you might want to revise your signature line.

Then these BLM members should then be charged as well?

Perhaps you are unfamiliar with the concept as nothing that occurred came anywhere close to what you are describing and that’s exactly why no one will be indicted on it. It’s a fascists dream but it won’t happen.

Dems pretending thier leaders didn’t support violence for years from thier side is astoundingly dishonest. How easily they forget.

WTF?! By removing the police force and the barriers and giving unfettered access is 100% unequivocal condoning of the violence! The Mayor tied the hands of the police to REMOVE antifa which led to several people losing their lives and more businesses being destroyed.

Yeah, summer of love while peoples livelihood burn to the ground.

You'll have to consult a law professional. I don't care what the code says. Intent is always a key element of any crime.

    What Trump did is sedition.

    se·di·tion
    /səˈdiSH(ə)n/

conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch.

I haven't rationalized a damned thing. I also don't fund or defund a damned thing. My point, which continues to escape you, is that when participating on a political forum, the burden of proof is on the claimant. When I see hyperbolic rhetoric, I call it out by asking for proof.

I suspect you've put me in the wrong box. Sorry, the label you want to tag me with doesn't fit.

    Also, I don't tweet.

Sorry if that was over your head. I'm not asking for whataboutism, I'm pointing out its irrelevance in this context.

My point, put simply, is that correlation is not the same as causation. Two things may be similar, may correlate, but causation implies that one event caused the other. There is no evidence that Maxine's words led directly to an event in which someone was hurt. Trump's words did lead to people getting hurt, property being damaged, and our Capitol building being attacked by his supporters.

Untrue. If you make a claim, the burden of proof is on you. And the only link was the rant from Maxine Waters, who was urging people to yell at other people, not storm a public building in order to stop a routine and mostly ceremonial process. That's precisely what Trump urged his supporters to do. That is, in fact, sedition.
