    I didn't make that suggestion....
    my suggestion is that even though you claim to be atheist you are in fact no different than the Christian...

    the Christian believes his man-made Bible to be of highest authority...
    you believe your man-made laws and documents to be of highest authority.

    Christians and yourself are exactly the same in that you both give credence to man-made laws and documents.

    No, you DID make that suggestion through direct implication.

    Your argument would apply to ANY set of laws - in fact to ANY set of principles designed to guide how laws are made.

    For one or two posts, how about switching to proposing the kind of change YOU would like to see?

    Until then, more accusations about me being "religious" is a little pointless, isn't it?

    Not at all...my argument applies to the humans who subscribe to the assumed supreme authority of those laws and principles....
    of which you are the perfect example.

    Nonsense.

    Every government has some sort of singular set of principles under which they create law.

    You're just trashing all forms of government. ALL forms.

    Are you an anarchist?

    lol

    You're consistently addressing government.

    In fact, you consistently equate government and religion.

    You need to unscramble that. Governments such as our own don't address ANY of the central issues of religion. In fact, they STRIVE not to.

    False, he is consistently addressing your comments which are centered on government as the highest authority. Why the facade Wil?
    got em dancin now! LOL
    To hell with what it actually says;

    Amendment I
    Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; .

    Some day I guess I have to learn to read the constitution the way Wil does!

    Amendment I
    Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of ANY of the central issues of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise of ANY of the central issues of religion thereof;

    Clearly we all need to take English lessons from Wil. Its not what it says that counts here its what Wil wants it to say. Maybe better said, its what Wil pretends it says! :deadhorse:

    Brilliant! 8)

    Yes. Every civilization has a highest level of authority concept. And, talking about that highest level has to be the first order of business of setting up a government.

    I'd point out that YOU do that too, so suggesting it is a "facade" when I do it seems a little silly, don't you think?

    What is a "central issue of religion"? Can you at least give some examples?

    Clearly this is a key definition in the whole idea you are trying to promote, so it should get some serious light.

    Its not polite to point, especially with no quote demonstrating your interpretation of what I said is even real.

    Ah of course, burden of proof is on me to define and explain 'your' wacky claim.

    That's mostly a myth and a lie.

    We've had this debate in other threads in the past.

    The Islamic Empires in the Middle East stole and pillaged most everything it had, at that period in history. The frequent Islamic raids practically made southern Europe collapse.
    Then there was some technology that came to Europe through the Muslim lands from India, since the Muslims had a stranglehold on all trade and travel through that area.

    Of course, a lot of the history that's taught in schools these days is revisionist.

    I asked you a straightforward question about the words you used.

    If you can't answer that, then you clearly don't even understand what you SAID!

    You wanted to add "central issues of religion" to our constitution.

    Nobody could POSSIBLY agree with you without even knowing what you meant by that.

    are you sure you're on the right thread??

    Nonsense.

    You rewrote our first amendment to use new language.

    I'm asking you (over and over again) to state what your new language means.

    Look, over and over again you've had nothing to add.

    Yes, what I'm saying absolutely does apply, as the proposed solution has been to rewrite the first amenement.

    I'm simply asking what Koko's brand new first amendment actually means.

    Obviously, nobody is going to get behind a first amendment rewrite without knowing what it means.

    I'm not being even slightly confrontive in this. I'm just asking the question that EVERY American would need to have answered.

    Lol...I agree with you 100%!! Without a doubt in my mind!!!
    But you are asking it on the wrong thread!
    If you would start one that is pertinent to your question...you make just get some really good answers!

    So you truly dont comprehend that I showed how loony your version "[ANY of the central issues of religion.]" of the constitution is huh?

    I suggest you may want to consider refraining from posting your misguided interpretations of the constitution, if you dont want to be called on it.

    Laughable when put in context isnt it?

    Now you even disagree with what you said and its so hilarious because here you are making great efforts of pretense to fraudulently put your wacky **** on me since I crayola'd it for you! :deadhorse:

    I agree that you would need to rewrite or at least clarify the first amendment.

    Your view of the first amendment is clearly not the current interpretation of our supreme court.

    But, you need to explain what you want the first amendment SHOULD mean.

    So far, you focus on all the things you don't like about the current interpretation.

    ===> What do you WANT the first amendment to mean???

    Taking a break from politics where there seems a lack of Godly principals I thought I might wander into this forum and broaden my horizons. There are a few things I do know though.

    1. If there is a God, I'm not him or her.

    2. When I was "God of the World" I found out that there were lesser gods than me (usually my children under 18) who consistently disobeyed my commands.

    3. If there wasn't a God, mankind, would have had to invent him because they needed someone to blame for all their woes and shortcomings on. Now that Trump is about to depart I see a resurgence in the wrath of man against God making a comeback.

    Let me take an uneducated guess to your post.

    1. Facts. Either God is or God Isn't.

    2. Whatever moral code you are using to living your life by is your spirituality.

    3. True. Speaking for myself I find God to complex to fully understand. My greatest fear of death is my not knowing. I sometimes think why do I need a Heaven when I'm pretty happy here. Should I be condemned to Hell because I never grasped the piety of life? Would I be happier to just die and that is the end?

    4. I find religion does have benefits for many. It gives most a sense of hope of something better. It gives some comfort in times of distress. For some it gives structure in there lives.

    5. I have to look at the question is God real from the a different point in the whole scheme of things. I look all around me and see the nature of things that have been the same since the beginning of discovery. The way our bodies function develop like machines. Each part having it's own purpose. The way the stars and planets intermingle day after day and year after year. It is too overwhelming for me not to believe a higher intelligent force exists.

    6. Are the books of religions fraudulent. Could be but in context we come across tribes even in these times who have been doing things as far back as they can remember. Traditions are passed down and language also. Just because they have no written record does not mean what they say is false. Just like we have storytellers and fairy tales today get a point across, so it was with the early people of this earth.

    7. Facts and faith.

    Amendment I
    Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
    Amendment I
    Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
    No need, position is perfectly clear to everyone else out here, you are the one who is falsely quoting the BoR.
    "[ANY of the central issues of religion.]"
    So now you are trying to blame that silly bullshit you said on scrotomus maximus huh? Citation please.
    Sure thing wil:
    Amendment I
    Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
    CITATION?
    That level of bullshit is several magnitudes below the mentality of scrotomus maximus, cite of concede you are falsifying the 1st amendment and spreading misinformation.

    Amendment I
    Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise [of religion] thereof;

    Exactly what it says above Wil!

    It does not mean the bullshit you are peddling out here as crayola'd below:

    Wils First Amendment (as he paraphrased previously)
    Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of "[ANY of the central issues of religion.]" , or prohibiting the free exercise "[ANY of the central issues of religion.]" thereof;

    Thanks much for returning this thread to it's intended topic.
    In reference to your first point..."1. If there is a God, I'm not him or her."

    I understand that a human cannot possibly be the God(s) as described in religious manuals....

    but what if the whole concept of God has been misinterpreted over the years?
    All religions seem to point to something that most don't actually comprehend...so they never quite catch on....
    and as a result conditions continue to deteriorate rather than improve.

    I'd appreciate it if you would stop claiming I've said stuff when I have said nothing remotely similar.

    I've asked you several times to state some specific example of somethign that the supreme court rules against and you object to that ruling. And, please say why.

    ...and I see NO CITATION from you what so ever, thanks for posting another pile of **** statist on steroids interpretation for us.
