    Or his followers, that's the part that sometimes gets to me.
    Trump was (and is) honestly insane but he was just one man, and individual people often go crazy just BECAUSE they are cut off from others who compose a check on their crazy feelings.

    But what could make so many of Trump's followers go as insane as they must have been to storm the Capitol, and indeed to remain loyal minions of Trump's crazy delusions to the present?

    Is it something to do with the Internet? Does it have to do with the psychoses that seem to grip whole nations? What?.

    It behooves us to find this out if we don't want to see it repeated.

    Bombastic hyperbole is not a valid argument.
    He stopped construction on the wall - he's not tearing it down and dismantling Border Patrol. Get a grip on yourself ...
