Racial profiling. I'm glad you mentioned that. What is the profile of a black man? YOU must think it's bad and it applies to all blacks, otherwise the term would be meaningless to you.

Racism is an advantage to black people, why would they say it doesn't exist when they rely on it?

Here's an example of systemic racism from the LA TIMES, except it's only systemic with liberals.

First they show their racism against Asians. Second, it shows their racism against blacks and latinos in that they believe those groups need an advantage because they can't compete head to head.

Systemic racism is an important sounding phrase used to make its leftist speaker sound learned and to divide us as Americans as well as to turn us against one another and away from justice. Essentially it panders to superstition and buttresses the desperate defense of criminal behavior and failure in general. It suggests that our prisons and jails are overflowing with innocent minorities, while the remainder of our nation is awash in non incarcerated guilty whites. Even though the majority of those incarcerated are white, and that everyone incarcerated has been found guilty by trials and juries of having committed a crime. Another popular leftist phrase used to divide Americans and turn us against one another is white privilege. It essentially suggests that a white person who achieves something thru faith, sacrifice and hard work is somehow privileged or unfairly rewarded. Essentially it is pandering to envy.

It's BS. Systemic Racism in our institutions has been illegal in this country for over a half century. If there were any institutions actually practicing SR, they would be buried in lawsuits and stripped of their assets.

Dems push their agenda through race-baiting.

Rep. Jamaal Bowman of New York shared some thoughts on white supremacy on his Twitter account today. As luck would have it, the thing upholding white supremacy is also the thing progressive Dems want to get rid of to push their agenda through.

    • The electoral college is a pillar upholding white supremacy. It’s time to abolish it.

Maybe you could tell us what in America in 2021 is *not* "white supremacy". It would save time.

Fake News. Any Institution that was practicing Systemic Racism would be buried in lawsuits and stipped of their assets. It's illegal to practice systemic racism in the US and has been for a half century.

Name the institution that you claim is practicing Systemic Racism.

You should have rather asked, what is "fight against systemic racism".

It is a politically correct euphemism for the chant of American Fascists: "Death to the Zionist regime ! Death to Great Satan!" (Louis Farrakhan in Tehran).

It is the trendy new name for institutional racism. It gets used too often, but it has existed in practices like redlining neighborhoods or putting the trash dump near the black neighborhood and not the white one.

Systemic racism is any law, policy, rule, etc within a system that benefits or penalizes an individual solely based upon his race.

Systemic racism is a way for communists to get folks to willingly turn over government to them. Bottom line.

None of these are examples of 'systemic' racism, are they?

I mean, your first example, if taken at face value, illustrates prejudice in the people who are reading resumes. Unless there is a policy to give preference to white-sounding applicants within those companies' systems, then the perceived racism in the hiring process is limited to whoever it is who is reading resumes. This is not 'systemic racism' unless there is something codified in the system that requires that resumes are rejected due to race... it's just racist HR workers prejudging resumes based on race.

This is not to minimize the significance of the example, the end result is the same; racist hiring practices. It's just not 'systemic' unless the system is designed and intended to work that way.

Or putting the dump near those who don't care and don't get involved, as opposed to those who do. Protesting the measure after the fact does not make it racism. It simply makes one late. One may as well lament ones own sloth.

Please tell me exactly what "Systemic Racism" is! I'm very serious....

I means nothing because it doesn't exist. Legitimate organizations and systems decry racism. Racism isn't a part of a system. It is a personal thing. Racists are individual people not organizations.

And that illustrates the problem with institutional racism---rationalizing it in non racial terms.

I read the article you provided and from it I concluded (and have always believed) that a resumè should never be a place to spotlight one's "ethnicity", no matter what the color. Indeed, applicants who 'run their ethnicity up a flagpole' may be sabotaging themselves because they create the impression of being pompous, self-centered egotists who may not turn out to be good 'team players' in any company!

A manager who finally gets a 'hiring requisition' authorization from higher up his own chain is usually looking to fill it ASAP (before 'corporate' decides to yank it away). I've been there, as a lower-level manager in a Fortune 50 corporation.

The letters-of-introduction and resumès were only lightly 'screened' by our corporate 'gatekeepers' to make certain that basic required requirements (usually education) were met, and then passed on to me. I have never once seen, or been subjected to, providing an enumeration of one's hobbies and pastimes UNTIL an in-person INTERVIEW takes place. A good hiring manager doesn't care if an applicant likes "outdoorsy activities like hiking, snowboarding, and kayaking"... which the article refers to as being "White" interests. He cares about making the best possible addition to his department's headcount, and very little else.

If I were applying for a job, myself, today, I'd stick to framing my qualifications and attributes in the light of what the JOB calls for, and leave ALL the 'personal' baggage for later (if EVER). Want to succeed in business? Focus on BUSINESS!

There's nothing factual in your post, but even if we just assume you're correct, some neighborhoods 'redline' themselves -- because of all kinds of crime, violence, trash, run-down buildings, drug-dealing, public drunkenness, and other squalor. And, as we have seen often, in many countries around the world, poor people tend to congregate in the areas where real estate prices are the lowest, because (obviously) they can more readily afford to live there. An area where there are, or are likely to be (based on economics), 'trash dumps' comes to mind.

Aside: throughout 'Latin America', from the Mexican border nearly all the way to the tip of South America, there are entire 'mini-cities' of poor people who live ON TOP OF, AND ENTIRELY INSIDE enormous trash dumps! Take a look at Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil!

We would all prefer to live in pricey mansions, but it is really not the fault of "White" America that all of us don't.... Hint: there are lots and lots of very poor White Americans, too....

You misinterpreted the article. These resumes simply referenced ethnic things in their experience and volunteering.

You might want to learn what redlining is before claiming it is self-imposed

Sorry but I too do not believe in it. It is like saying systematically denying women the right to vote. It make no sense at all. It is a Democrat created fiction.
