From here: EU's multi-billion pandemic recovery fund gets go-ahead from European Parliament

    Quote:
It is at least good to see that the money is not being just "thrown" at the countries, but also they are charged with missions to employ the funds to better their economies. Which is goodness.

Now we shall see which countries know how to put the funds and the economic efforts to good work by stimulating Demand that Creates Jobs. Time will tell - it always does ...

I am not convinced that stimulus is necessary. Bank accounts will not have been that affected. Once rid of the Covid death-menace, the consumer-market might recuperate all by itself. There is no reason to assume that it will not.

Consumer intention-to-spend need not be truly affected by Covid. Yes, it kills people, which does have an impact upon Consumer Demand. The question being, "How much impact?"

Maybe not that much, and demand will simply kick-in once people feel less threatened by Covid because they have received anti-Covid medication ... ?

And like most of such debt, it will be rolled over and over and over ... and forgot in some long distant future.

That's the way it has worked in the past and is the manner in which it will work now and in the future. There's no great mystery here, so let's stop looking for one. Shall we ... ?
