They play these little games. Churches produce voter guides that are supposedly balanced. They will list their values and compare the candidates to those listed values. But for some reason, it is always the Republicans who get all the check marks. But no, they do not endorse anyone directly, they just tell you which one is better for your faith. Besides, there are Protestant churches who regularly inform their flock that lib-er-als are their enemy. I never heard a preacher go on about conservatives, but some sure do love to hate liberals.

I have seen statistics that suggest a gun owner is several times more likely to suffer from a gun shot, than one who does not own a gun.

Thomas Jefferson wrote some rather harsh criticisms of Christianity.

I hear that trump considered registering his cult as a religion but didn’t want to waste his time promoting God instead of himself.

The Democratic Party is mostly a progressive party. Anti-Christian rhetoric is not part of the progressive tradition. They are too inclusive for that. However, liberalism, in the political sense, began as a moral philosophy that was quite opposed to Christianity on philosophical grounds. That philosophical ground arguing that the idea of a god is untenable. I am sure that is why many preachers have a habit of denouncing liberals.

While one does not hear anti-Christian rhetoric coming out of the Democratic Party, there are, however, plenty of liberal comedians and public intellectuals who regularly comment on the silliness of Christianity and religion in general.

Thats where the real extremist threat is. The FBI should be investigating and going undercover in churches in these small podunk towns. Thats where christian militants and nationalists get radicalized.

That's their decision to make and neither you nor anyone else has the right to interfere.

I think politics is a religion to the die hard ideologues of both the left and the right. They want to convert everyone to their beliefs and stifle those with opposite political beliefs. We haven't hit the inquisition of torture and the threat of death to get those who are of a different political belief to convert yet, but we're getting closer to that everyday.

We haven't got to the point of killing and the wars in the name of god/s different religions have had in the past. But we moving there to where we are turning our political war of words in the name of liberalism and conservatism into an actual war of violence and the use of government to stymie and stifle those who believe different politically than you.

We already reached as a nation who view those who support the other party and the other party's candidates as enemies of this nation. They have become the number one enemy more than China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, Terrorist.

Yes, politics is a religion to those die hard ideologues of both sides with the inquisition arriving soon. With those who have the power of government behind them to use that power to stifle and mute any of those who don't have the same political ideology as they. The use of governmental force is right around the corner, religious/political zealots, all one and the same.

It is not the politics. It is the acts. Abortion, homosexual acts, adultery, etc, They are following what their Bible says.

What do you base this on? I'm a conservative Republican. I own only one gun. A shotgun that I inherited from my father and grandfather. I've never shot a living thing that I'm aware of.

And I know I'm not alone in this.

When you take political action in support of a moral position, that's politics.

But the reason is not political. It has nothing to with it being a republican or democratic position.

Part of it. The Trump-worshipping part, anyway. Some are learning better. We'll see after CPAC how much the authoritarian Trump faction still holds sway. Sounds like Trump is going to try to announce himself as the 2024 candidate there.

It doesn't have to be a distinctly conservative or liberal position to be politics. Wherever you want a change in the way society operates, legally or otherwise, that's politics.

Again. The reason simply has nothing to do with politics, unless you somehow consider the Bible to be political.

Every political position is based on non-political positions. It doesn't stop them from being political positions.

The same can be said for both parties. Religion requires blind faith. To support either party, one must ignore results.

I don't see how simply owning a sword for sport or self defense is "living by the sword." Based on that logic, when Jesus advised his followers to sell their cloaks to buy swords instead, he was sentencing them to death for obeying his commands.

After cutting all your usual half-to-not true nonsense, we finally reach the "point" of your post.

Unsurprisingly, its just another bland, monotonous, can't-come-up-with-something-new-to-save-your-life episode of Ubermensch > Untermensch

    Dunno. Has it?
Tell us, and demonstrate your answer to be sound.
