    Article: https://www.politico.com/amp/news/2021/03/04/trump-appointee-arrested-for-capitol-riot-473825

“The FBI on Thursday arrested Federico Klein, a former State Department aide, on charges related to the storming of the Capitol on Jan. 6, marking the first known instance of an appointee of President Donald Trump facing criminal prosecution in connection with the attempt to block Congress from certifying President Joe Biden’s victory.

Klein is charged with several felonies, including assault on police officers, interfering with police during civil disorder and obstruction of an official proceeding, as well as lesser offenses.”

Klein has also worked as a analyst for the trump campaign and for the religious hate group, Family Research Council. Is this what the right wing has become? Conspiracy and extreme political views seem to be the new normal. Another example of the MAGA cult that has infected so many.

This must be devastating news for Trump supporters - ANTIFA has become so good at hiding its members that Trump appointed one to his administration. Who knows where this could end. Who else could be ANTIFA? Pence? Uday? Qusay? Melania? Barron? Maybe Trump is an ANTIFA sleeper agent & just doesn't know it yet!:hiding:

In people's heads. The riot was over two months ago. Get over it. Now we're debating Covid Relief packages.

    Get over it?

A breach at the Capitol building that left five people dead. Can you explain your name, what does the nationalist part stand for because it sure isn’t this nation.

Meanwhile you are still talking about Benghazi as of December of 2020 — 9 years later. Guess when the terrorists represent your views it’s best to move on quickly.

    Not surprising

They can't get slavery out of their heads, and if you counter with a different argument, then they'll go all the way back to the crusades. But if you mention Clinton, that's old news.

I just don't have an obsession over Trump or any events associated with him. This event is now entirely under the jurisdiction of the Justice Department, and is basically like any other crime. Hence, get over it. It's a bad look(just like still having the troops on reserve standby is a bad look.)

I'm not the one making America look bad, so I don't have any qualms about my name choice.

Some people can discuss more than one issue at once. We are everywhere.

There has been a concerted campaign by Trump supporters to lie about the composition of the crowd at the Capitol riot in an attempt to change the facts about an attempt to disrupt the certification of votes for the current President. Those lies need to be exposed. If you disagree then just avoid the thread.

I read this earlier today when another poster mentioned it. It's not surprising in the sense that someone in the Administration has strong views about the election and wanted to be involved in what they believed to be a way to stop the count. With that said, I am hesitant to blame this specifically on former President Trump. He probably wasn't involved in the day-to-day hiring of most of his staff and most certainly didn't vet candidates. People hide quite a bit of their personal lives in the workplace.

The only time trump was mentioned was by saying it was his appointee. The rest of the article has nothing to do with him. Seems the obsession is so strong that you have started seeing narratives that are not there.

And yes. The Capitol breach made American look very bad. Or do you think it was a good day for this nation? Such strange alliances

This is the FBI. The Senate is debating the covid bill. Well, the Democrats are. The Republicans are debating Dr. Seuss and Mr. Potato Head. And reading the entire text of the bill. That's okay. Democrats don't care. Nothing to get over.

The Trump goon is gonna need to get over it. Must suck to be him.

Johnson was the only one there. Once the clerks were done, he left, and the Democrats voted to change the time for debate from 20 hours to 3. Lmao. Got that wasted time back right away. Stupid GOP.

Let's think about this for a second. What if a Biden campaign member and appointee was found to be rioting at BLM and Antifa protests, do you think you would get over it? Don't you think we'd hear about it from the righties on here 24/7?

Took me a minute to find it.

Although budget reconciliation rules allow for up to 20 hours of debate ahead of the "vote-a-rama," Republicans and Democrats only used two. After GOP Senator Ron Johnson forced the Senate clerk to read the entire bill aloud, a process which took almost 11 hours, Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen asked shortly after 2 a.m. for debate to be limited to three hours when the Senate reconvened. As there was no objection from Republicans, the agreement was made and the Senate gaveled out.

The article focuses on Manchin, and I agree with this about Schumer.

The deliberating is a bad omen for Schumer, the newly minted majority leader, as the "vote-a-rama" is test of his ability to keep his caucus in line.

I like Manchin. I don't much like Schumer because he seems weak.

Senate "vote-a-rama" for COVID relief bill stalled ahead of vote (msn.com)

Its a strawman to compare past events and the timeline of discussions for someone saying we should no longer discuss a relatively current event?

We must be using different definitions of the word, mine comes from the dictionary, where does yours come from?

    Who is excited?
I didn’t know this was posted in the sub forum “current events that excite me”

This isn’t going away, that your ilk brought these people into power, cheered them on, and allowed this until it has gone to an all out assault on the democratic foundations of this nation will not be ignored no matter how many times y’all try to shrug it off as irrelevant.

The right seems go care more for a potato than they do for this nation.

The left just one up'd the right by putting Biden in office, so you may want to hold off on the insult throwing.

    Fake news.

The riot was small and inconsequential.

    Old news.

No charges for “insurrection” either hahaha.

Support does not make a good president. He's an old man with dementia who isn't even sure who the president is. He's a puppet, nothing more.
