Facebook oversight board to announce decision on Trump ban on May 5

Facebook Inc's (FB.O) independent oversight board tweeted on Monday it would announce a decision May 5 on whether to uphold former U.S. President Donald Trump's indefinite suspension from the social media platform and Instagram.
Facebook blocked Trump's access to his Facebook and Instagram accounts over concerns of further violent unrest following the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol by his supporters. It later handed the case to the oversight board.

Hopefully, they KEEP Trump banned.

Besides, Trump now has his own "platform".

Thus, why would Trump even need access to FB or IG?

 

If they decide to allow him back in, I might have to delete my FB account.

 

I was just reading about that on a different forum. Apparently, he has started a blog page on his website. It's said that people can take his postings to post on FB and/or Twitter. And, of course, there is a giant red link to make donations.

His supporters aren't intelligent enough or too lazy to find out what he says elsewhere. Twitter and Facebook will alert them like a trained monkey.

 

Mike Lindell's website was supposed to launch last week but they are having technical difficulties. He's already spent $1 million on it.

My guess is neither he nor Trump realized how much is actually involved in building a social media site.

One could imagine that the decision by FB, on Trump, would be major news (either way).

 

I’m glad that he’s doing that. It’s going to be great seeing ordinary Americans putting his words from that site onto Facebook and Twitter. I put info here on Trumps new site earlier today.

He has repeatedly alleged many things, and so far nothing seems to be true.

The BBB rates him as a "F", and his fakery is without redemption.

Just like Trump, he may incurred another million dollars in debt, but he assuredly hasn't "spent" a million dollars on his social media.

So Facebook has now clarified what most people knew all along. They do not believe in the 1st Amendment, and they can and will arbitrarily pick and choose what information they will permit.

Their choice.

 

Last night I had a feeling Trump's people knew this was coming which is why he opened his blog yesterday.

 

Trump could not follow the rules he agreed to, just like the people banned on this site.

 

Careful, the site records your address and you can expect requests to donate to his tax free, bankruptcy court resistant, with very limited usage restrictions, PAC. He'll go bankrupt via the lawsuits but still have tens of millions in a tax free PAC that will allow him to rent girls and ships and planes. Yep, I'm sure he'll wave happily at his contributors when he passes them on the seas.

 

There is no way in Hades that I would send a BILLIONAIRE money. I wouldn't do it even if I was a Trump supporter. It breaks my heart that so many people, with far less means, are funneling for his faux-outrage. I honestly don't understand how his supporters can think any of it is okay.

Its a good idea to ban Trump from Facebook.
We don't want to loose any more leftist who think Trump told them to inject their lungs with Lysol or find out how the Trump administration got their vaccine in record time. They would all be anti vaxers from that bit or realization.
Its like having laws to wear seat belts and put babies in car seats. Its difficult to protect the ignorant from themselves.

 

Guess we as a society need to determine how social media can limit speech, right? Good for the goose, and all that.
