    https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2021/06/10/inflation-cpi-may-prices/

Highest raise since 2008 and the great recession. Terrible numbers. Doesn't include gas and food. The economy is dying.

I hate to say I told you so, but...no I dont actually hate telling you. I told you so. Gonna go count my gold and silver now.

Using a Washington Post or other publication that has a drop down demand for signing up a subscription is as good as nothing since only those with a subscription can read or even see it.

If the economy was dying you'd not have anything to buy...

Can't handle the pandemic crush, you should have been around for the decade long recession and hyper-inflation of Nixon to Reagan. They used to tell us to tighten that belt another notch 'cause it was gonna get tough...

Did you miss the Carter years? Interest rates to buy a house were in the teens.

Yes, I made a lot of dough and had a blast. The Billy Beer sucked like Lone Star beer.

Do you miss rotating days of even and odd for fuel? Rationing or price controls of Nixon and closing the window on gold and watching choppers being overloaded as Ford ordered everyone out of Saigon, remember watching the US lose a war as the tanks of the North Vietnamese came rolling in as we ran away? But you want to only look at Carter...

You loved the interest rates to buy a house in the teens.

I didn't buy a house until I got out of the army in 1986 and I hated the high interest during Reagan also..

Looking at the year to year increase is more or less meaningless since we were in the middle of a pandemic in May of last year.

The month to month was up .6%, which is not great but not terrible.

Yes, especially when the elliptical is at the lower to higher end and not in retrograde, or continuous deflation.

Carter's appointment of Paul Volcker and his resultant monetary policy was the best thing in Carter's term.

Economic recoveries is a dying economy to you?

Do you know the DJI index nearly tripled since 2008 and that is bad by your standards?

When exiting a recession, things tend to inflate as people spend and goods takes time to catch up.

    I understand the OP now.
Rising markets are bad. Recessions are good.
    Thanks for clearing that up.

Domestically, perhaps, but Carter's greatest achievement was the Camp David Accords.
