Boris Johnson has described the US President Joe Biden as a "breath of fresh air" after they met on the eve of the G7 summit in Cornwall.

"There's so much that they want to do together with us, from security, NATO, to climate change," the PM said.

There is also "complete harmony" with Mr Biden over Northern Ireland, Mr Johnson added.

Mr Johnson said the US, UK and EU all wanted to protect the Good Friday Agreement.

This is nothing surprising, Boris Johnson condemned Trump's rhetoric before he was elected, and then again condemned his actions after the Jan 6th riots occurred when Trump was on his way out. It seems the only time any foreign leader liked him was when it was time to be diplomatic.. of course there's a possible exception for Rodrigo Duterte and Narendra Modi, I think those leaders had genuine reasons to like Trump

In regards to Joe Biden, I'm not so sure he's all that popular internationally, but it's easy to imagine why our allies would be relieved to be working with him instead

AGREE !!!!! Have been watching this visit coverage on BBC.........and even at the onset.......it is a totally different atmosphere...... and for the positive. Even though there are challenges........ one gets an impression that they want to work things out. There is no childish antics that distract from the serious business of the meet up. Nice shots of Jill Biden. and Johnson's wife walking on the beach and chatting. Even if staged........it helps to create and foster conducive atmosphere for cooperation. We will see what they achieve........but if they reinstate a healthier relationship with each other on the international stage... ...... that will be a plus. BJ seems more mature at this event.

No, it’s called sincerity, experience, compassion and personality. Biden has been in government for 50 years and anybody who knows or has worked with him likes and respects him. He actually has a positive vision for America and the world at large. He actually likes and cares about people. He is getting a little old but make no mistake, he knows exactly what he is doing and has hired intelligent, honest and hardworking young people to help him execute his plan. I look forward to see how he handles Putin next week. He and his team are a huge step up from the clown show that proceeded him.

I will however disagree with the ACTUAL point they’re making in that article which is this part:

Not only do they provide no evidence to support this claim but it’s highly illogical. If you call someone stupid or retarded are you doing it because you worried about the fact you’re stupid or retarded? If you call someone a redneck or a racist are you worried about turning into one? Of course not, it’s an observation about the actions/words of the other individual. It’s not reflective of yourself, it’s reflective of your opinion of the other person. Just like if you were to call someone queer or a pedophile doesn’t mean you’re worried about turning gay or that you might want to have sex with children.

Furthermore, it’s irrelevant if *I* think the concept is insulting anyway. Meaning if the person I’m attempting to insult doesn’t think the term is insulting then it’s not an effective insult. For instance if someone says “You act so white” or “You’re such a redneck” to me, they may mean it as being insulting but I consider it to be something which is a source of pride. Therefore the insult is not effective. (BTW that doesn’t mean they’re worried they might be a redneck does it?)

This story is doing nothing more than recycling what the homosexuals did with the term gay. They’re suggesting anyone who says it in an insulting manner is actually concerned they may be that thing itself in an attempt to make the word as an insult fall out of disuse.
