The Straw Hat Riot of 1922 was a riot that occurred in New York City. Originating as a series of minor riots, it spread due to men wearing straw hats past the unofficial date that was deemed socially acceptable, September 15. It lasted eight days, leading to many arrests and some injuries

Is it just me or does the idea of men fighting over a fashion statement smack a bit on the drag queen side...?

Poor John Wayne Bobbitt. His wife Lorena cut off his penis with a knife while he was asleep in bed. The penis was subsequently surgically reattached.

After the incident, John attempted to generate money from his renown by forming a band, The Severed Parts, to pay his mounting medical and legal bills, although the band was unsuccessful and failed to generate enough money.[citation needed] In September 1994, he appeared in the adult film John Wayne Bobbitt: Uncut, in another attempt to make money. In 1996, he appeared in another adult film, Frankenpenis (also known as John Wayne Bobbitt's Frankenpenis).[14]

The great physicist Richard Feynman, most noted publicly for revealing the cause of the Challenger Space Shuttle Explosion, long had a fascination with the notion of humans in space. In one book he reflects back to his days in college before we had a space program. He and his buddies debated a very practical problem in space adventures: Can a human pee in space? If you can't pee, sending humans to space could be a problem. And they didn't know if urination was primarily driven by muscles, or gravity. Perhaps in zero G you can't pee! But Richard was confident that urination is primarily controlled by muscles. To prove his point, he stood on his head and peed.

Vagina Dentata... the tooth and nothing but the tooth

In psychological circles it has referred to fear of vaginas and fear of being bitten by one. The toothed vagina is a potent symbol of what Freud famously called ‘castration anxiety’ and Freud set a lot of stock by castration anxiety. He believed it shaped not only male sexuality but female...

In Greek mythology, vagina dentata was represented by Gorgon, a female snake monster with often depicted with huge menacing fangs. Several deities represented vagina dentata in ancient Egypt as well as Native American folklore.

Cell migration, perhaps a failed twin, and dermatoid cysts otherwise account for cases of actual vaginas with teeth.

Gives an entirely new meaning to getting bitten by the love bug.

The moon is precisely the size needed to block the sun exactly 100% during a full solar eclipse, And there is no reason that we know of, why that should be true.

Have you ever wondered by we always see the man in the moon? Why do we always see the same side? We do know this answer.

During one of the missions to the moon, the astronaut in the orbiter, which orbited the moon while the other astronauts landed, twice observed a flashing light on the dark side of the moon.

To the best of our knowledge, no one ever landed on the dark side of the moon until 2019; and certainly not back in 1970.

During the making of the Wizard of Oz, midgets and dwarfs [short people] were recruited from all over the country to be in the movie. Because this was in the 1930s and much of the US was rural, many short people had never been around other people their size. Many never had the opportunity to date someone their size. And according to the biography of one surviving member of the cast of Oz, the entire scene was sexually charged. Judy Garland was constantly complaining about munchkins grabbing her butt. And reportedly there was at least one midget orgy.

The first time I had sex it was with my boss's wife, while he watched. I was 16 and she was early 30s. They got me really drunk first and it was a setup. But I actually made the moves on her. John was asleep on the couch and could have killed me with one arm. What was I thinking?!?!?! We were just about to go for it when he came into the bedroom and caught us. I honestly thought I was about to die until he said to come into the other bedroom.

After that he asked me to stop by after school from time to time and see her because he couldn't keep her happy.

    True story! LOL!

He was my boss [the track announcer] at Hollywood Park - a horse racing track. Years later I realized he was involved with the mob and they had been grooming me.

Scientists are considering using genetically engineered mosquitoes to vaccinate people. In principle you could vaccines vast regions of tropical countries against common, preventable diseases.

Imagine the reaction if you could engineer a Covid vaccine mosquito and turn it loose in trumpland. LOL!

Contrary to popular perceptions, when in orbit on the space station you have not escaped the effects of gravity. The station is actually in free fall like a skydiver. But due to the curvature of the earth, the earth moves away from the station as fast as it falls towards the earth. Because you are in constant free fall, you float.

Even though light travels at 186.000 miles per second. a photon or "light particle" produced inside of the sun might take millions of years to escape due to the number of interactions it has on the way out. So when the sunshine hits your eyes, consider that even though the sun is only 8 light-minutes away, it took millions of years to reach you. That light was likely produced in the sun about when Homo erectus, our earliest ancestors first evolved

Centrifugal force does not exist. It is a pseudo force.

The real force is centripetal force, which acts in the opposite direction to the perceived centrifugal force.

The tallest living man and the shortest living woman. One definition of speciation is that a species diverges when two members of that species are so different that they can no longer reproduce. What do you think?

About a third of the women I've dated over the last 8 years are bisexual.

I love it when that happens!

Fire, drought and real estate prices are ending the Californian dream
By North America correspondent Kathryn Diss and Cameron Schwarz in California

    Updated 5hhours ago
Californians give up on the dream
America's most populous state lost 182,000 people in 2020.

It might not sound like much in a state of 39 million people, but it's the equivalent of all the residents of Santa Barbara and all the residents of Santa Monica packing up and heading elsewhere.

The place can only sustain so many people. At a point someone has to leave. The cost of living and real estate prices are forcing out those who can't afford to live.

The same thing is happening all along the great West Coast. I met a man who moved from Seattle to Nebraska for his retirement. He loves Seattle but simply can't afford to live there on his retirement income. The average small apartment is $2000 a month. The average price of a home is just under a million.

The universe is likely full of life. And when you consider that there are around 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars in the visible universe (that's 1 billion trillion), the laws of large numbers come into play. So what does this mean to you? It means that when you go out at night and look at the night sky, stop and consider that you are likely looking at billions of worlds filled with thinking beings. Take a moment to think about them. And because of the laws of large numbers, you should wave. The odds are that someone is looking back and thinking about you.

Trump's signature campaign pledge was to build a great wall, in the spirit of that great democratic leader of nations and role model China, to keep the alleged subhumans out. Day after day after day he incited the mobs and promised to stop the massive influx of rapists and murderers.

But after 4 years of a trump monarchy, under the inspired leadership of the greatest builder in human history, the richest man since printed money, the greatest manager since god himself, to date they have built 40 of 2000 miles of new wall. Now trump is history. And no trumplicans even seemed to notice.
    https://www.factcheck.org/2020/12/t...MI8-LG3Y-V8QIVBRx9Ch2OVgACEAAYASAAEgJidfD_BwE

All of those rapists and murderers will now have to drive up to an extra 20 minutes before crossing the border.

Just four liberal States - California, Illinois, New York, and Penn, [8% of the States] account for 30% of the GDP of the entire US. Yet people in the cute little red states that contribute relatively nothing, have the gall complain about "liberal spending".

Note that Texas is purple and swinging blue now too. Those 5 states produce 40% of the GDP for the entire country.

California alone qualifies as the 6th biggest country in the world, by GDP. California has about twice the GDP of Russia.

Note to red states: You walked up to the biggest kids on the block and kicked us between the legs, when we thought we were all friends. Now we know better. ;)
