WASHINGTON — The Biden administration is aiming to bolster information sharing with technology companies, potentially expand hiring of intelligence analysts and improve screening of government employees for ties to domestic terrorism as part of a much-anticipated plan expected to be released on Tuesday detailing how the federal government should combat extremism.

President Biden ordered the review of how federal agencies addressed domestic extremism soon after coming into office, part of an effort to more aggressively acknowledge a national security threat that has grown since the Capitol riot on Jan. 6.

    A number of things.
First, what he did in late March as far as mobilizing the manufacturing industry he should have done in late January.

He should have been honest and upfront with the American people.

He should not have given mixed message on mask late into the summer. His making fun of people for wearing mask made the situation worse.

Finally, the government should have been more open about sharing the information they had. The VA had enough information in late Feb to close an entire unit at the VA hospital and start a 6 week retrofit to turn it into a negative pressure area for the sole purpose of treating COVID patients. This was the same time we the people were being told the virus would be gone in a week. Whatever information the VA had to cause them to do this action they did not share with local hospitals. Why is that?

    What corruption?

As far as lockdowns go - liberals in some states locked down churches but not casinos and strip clubs, so yeah.

The Trump is human? Seems to me that it is the most foul of creatures. It ran on cleaning out the swamp yet turned out to be the swampiest, dirtiest creature to have ever slimed its way into the halls of government. Its associates are just bad, just as crooked, just as dishonest, just as corrupt. It isn’t just disagreeing with someone, it is seeing the behavior and being appalled by it. I am appalled at what Republicans have become under the Trump.

BS or just more of the overtly characteristic of Red Haters denying reality that doesn’t fit the narrative they have cone to love and hold. You complain and feel hurt when I bring it up, but reality is what it is. Time after time, on issue after issue, when one looks into the facts, conservatives are always wrong. Some times outrageously wrong. Like voter fraud prevented the Trump from being re-elected. Like the left is somehow communist or any other number of things conservatives like to falsely claim about liberals, the Democratic Party, progressives, the Left… Oh no, you are offended, because I am calling it out.

Yes, Trump is a human and these sorts of post just make any actual point you might have meaningless.

By doing this sort of thing are just as bad as Trump is

It was very long winded and did not say much.

In the end, people are not remembered for how they handled the good times, but how they dealt with adversity and hard times. Due to this Trump will not be fondly remembered by history. His legacy in history will be COIVD-19 and the aftermath of the election, nothing else.

Statistics. Data. Life experiences. Interactions with conservatives. My family is full of them. You are complaining about me pointing out what I see as a faulty ideology built upon lies and bigotries. I see the positions taken by conservatives, it is not like it is difficult to see what is going on.

Conservatives regularly trash talk liberals, progressives, Democrats, the Left…. And usually in the most dishonest, denigrating way possible. Yet when their own behavior is put before them, they cry foul.

When Bush and the Republicans pushed through the ill named Patriot Act, one of the bill’s targets was libraries. That is, the act allowed for Homeland Security to access anyone’s library records, to get a list of what one has been reading. There grew a movement within the library community in an effort to thwart the bill’s provisions. It was entirely a liberal leaning effort. Liberal in that it opposed the intrusion, and liberal in that reading is part and parcel to the liberal experience. In the end, it was decided that libraries would no longer leave a paper trail. Once a book is returned, the record of the book having been checked out is erased. Polls show that rural people tend to read much fewer books than city folks. That college educated people tend to read significantly more than those with no more than a high school education. It is book learning that the modern Republican ideology opposes, part of the anti-intellectual stance. It is why millennials, are turning to libraries. One tends to find information that is significantly more reliable, and in depth, in libraries than on-line, television, or the public narrative. Notice the trend, millennials tend to not fall for the Republican narratives, as older Americans do. Maybe it is also because public schools have done much to break the bigotries that plagued past generations.

Not at all. I do not make up things to trash conservatives over. It is the essential difference between the parties. Republicans tend to make up things about Democrats and then condemn them for it. It is rather common to hear a conservative/conformist/authoritarian/Republican go on about Democrats being akin to communists, even though there are no Democrats advocating for communism, or a communism like society.

Notice here that this is a thread about the less than honorable legacy of the worst president that we have ever had. Not a single conservative has come to its defense. Just the typical attacks on the messenger. I am sure that you can not dispute what I have written in the OP. It why you haven’t even tried.

It seems to me that the Republican Party has not legitimately held power since the time of Nixon. I am sure that Watergate, the Iran/Contra deal, the Trump/Russian coordination, the Diebold voting machine debacle, and the many voter suppression efforts are just the things that have come to light. There seems to be an awakening in America. Republican and Democrats are not opposite sides of the same coin, no matter how badly Republicans want that idea to resonate. When I watch Star Wars movies, I often wonder if conservatives cheer for Darth Vader and the stormtroopers. If they see the Trump in the same light as Palpatine.

Trump has a fine legacy. Not a single massive failure like Obamacare.

Frankly it's his endless condescending air of intellectual and moral superiority I get the biggest kick out of. Ah, to be a legend in one's own mind......

This is where you and I differ. You call it 'complaining' in your attempt to dismiss, rather than constructively discuss the subject. Your mind is made up before you even address a response.

Perhaps you need to start looking at people as individuals, rather than your enemy, eh?

For some reason, they view themselves as 'superior', when book learning is all well and good, but isn't worth diddly if one doesn't know how to apply the concepts in real life.

Education can be had, both paid for and not, but that doesn't make the person any more intelligent then when they started.

Anecdotally, I can say one of the most intellectually gifted people I know is a Trump devotee. He got drawn in to conservative politics due to his work associates, subsequently started consuming right wing media, and now is lost in a haze of lies.

Prior to the start of 2020 I would have agreed with you and put Trump as an average president.

That all changed in 2020 between the COVID response and his actions after the election.

Those are the only two things Trump will be known for
