Nancy takes a vacation rather than help renters.

Here is the story in full.

Housing and homeless advocates protested outside of Nancy Pelosi's San Francisco home Saturday demanding the House Speaker reconvene Congress to pass an extension to the expiring eviction moratorium.

The House adjourned Friday for summer recess without passing legislation to extend a nationwide ban on evictions that is set to expire Saturday, prompting outrage from the progressive Squad and an overnight protest at the Capitol.

About 40 activists headed to Pelosi's home on Saturday to tape an "eviction notice" on her door to remind the speaker that millions of Americans will be facing eviction starting this weekend while she sleeps comfortably in her posh home.

    She snoozes, renters lose.

Question 1. Should she be taking a vacation at this time?
Question 2. What should Democrats do about this disaster?
Question 3. When it hits the fan, should Democrats take the blame?
They have the house, the Senate and the Presidency and keep promising to help the poor.

As will every Greedy Old Party member of the congress and senate, the money was appropriated to help landlords and tenants but it has not been disbursed same is true of other Covid related relief funds.

When people lost their jobs because of Obamacare Pelosi said it would allow the unemployed people to spend more time with their families, so I’m wondering how she’ll spin this and if the left will buy into it again.

Off she goes to her 24,000 freezers stuffed with $15/pint ice cream.

Congress fails to extend eviction moratorium expiring Saturday. Too busy with "insurrection" theater and "infrastructure" madness
[T]he moratorium has left an enormous $21 billion tab in unpaid rent built up.
    What a mess.

Of course she did. Just like she doesn’t care about failing roads and bridges until there’s another 2 trillion in pork to go with it.

Just like she held up COVID relief last summer to spite Trump and to get 1.5 trillion in extra spending then, too.

    She’s a horrible human being.

I will answer these questions but just as a foot note I completely and wholeheartedly agree with letting them expire.

question 1- yes, there is no economic demand for freebies when there are so many job openings

question 2- there is no disaster, if they want to keep their home then get a job. If you can’t find a job to support that home you don’t deserve it.

question 3- no. This was actually started by republicans and supported by democrats. No crap will hit the fan because we can’t give free housing on tax payers expense. This just causes property values to increase to an extraordinary amount. The loss of this will make cheaper housing.

There is much more to it than you let on.
Biden is president. Biden has had over 6 full months to handle this.

There are more options I believe you overlooked.
What you point out however valid is a good reason per your logic to never help Tenants again.

Joe Knows, I am a former Federal licensed real estate appraiser that owned and operated for years my own appraisal business.
I would ask this of all my former appraisal employees.

This is about your increasing Values claim.

How would you prove this to lenders?

First case against that is all investors understand that programs end and by paying more and more they may buy into bankruptcy.
Lenders are already well aware of this so getting loans would tend to be harder rather than easier.

Like I said, nope and not at all. But (and this is a big but) I agreed with this when it was passed, but they should have made it a stalemate. They shouldn’t have allowed people to enter into new contracts of sales or purchases because it was going to cause a housing bubble. The people who bought are going to pay the price of deflation. Because the housing market that was closed off (the renters) will now be open again. This will undoubtedly cause a housing deflation. Just wait and see. I wouldn’t invest in banks right now.

As a Former Federally licensed Real Estate appraiser with the second highest license qualified for (all but shopping centers)

And also as a Former mortgage firm owner, that used appraisers and worked daily with wholesale lenders, how can you justify prices going up on property held from evicting tenants only by a temporary law?

For the uninformed. Rentals are valued per the ability to collect paid rents. When the Feds stop evictions. that does not help prices go up.

Someone explain to me why these nitwits didn't see fit to take some of that money the government was sending them and pay the damn rent.

They did get paid. The downside was these fools thought they could sit on unemployment with over 1k in rent debts after the relief ended.

As a former Federally licensed appraiser with the next to highest license, how would I have used that to persuade lenders prices would go up?

What the public lacks, I have. I owned my own real estate firm from 1984 to 2019. I owned my own appraisal firm from 1993 to 1998. I owned my own mortgage firm from 1994 to 2019.

I spent hours on every appraisal to prove value. I ask of claimants here not to tell me, prove to me.
    Housing openings mean what?
A subsidized Tenant is expected to pay rents. But how can you force them to? Also I have not read all the law, I do not understand the theory of Democrats to first nail shut the gallows only to now remove all nails. (Saving Tenants)
