With many different agencies and businesses cracking down further on the unvaccinated I thought this was a good question. Many are receiving government benefits such as extra federal unemployment, eviction moratoriums, SNAP, and many other government programs at the federal, state, and local levels. And, often times, blacks, other minorities, and even undocumented immigrants are afraid to get the vaccine for various reasons. So, should we cut the unvaccinated's benefits off?

Vaccine hesitancy is higher among millennials and Gen Z than older adults

According to a NBCLX/Morning Consult poll conducted in March 2021, Generation Z (ages 18-23) and millennial (ages 24-34) adults are now the generations most likely to say they are not planning to get vaccinated or are unsure whether they'll get vaccinated. Specifically, the poll found 23% of adults between 18 and 34 said they will not get vaccinated, including 26% of respondents between the ages of 18 and 23. In addition, 21% of Gen Z and millennial respondents said they haven't decided whether they want to get vaccinated.

Weird that millennials are refusing the jab. Wanna take their benefits?

    *Warning Sarcasm Included*

Let's just take away benefits for those over a certain BMI, those with addiction problems, mental health issues, those who decline the vaccine, those who will not provide the government with their DNA, be fingerprinted, turn in their fire-arms, their fossil fuel burning vehicles, or disagree with policies?

For the "greater good" of course....

I can tell ya where to take your vaccine...

No. I think the handling of non-vaxxers is heading in the right direction. They should loose certain privileges that vaxxers enjoy unless they come around. I don't own a brick and mortar business but it's now that I wish I did. No one would work for me or come in my door as a customer that couldn't verify they were vaccinated.

Wouldn't that violate the 14th amendment?

I would consider the idea of cutting off benefits if it could be proven that a person is refusing to search for or accept gainful employment.

I would NEVER consider the idea of cutting off benefits over someone's unwillingness to get any kind of medical intervention. It's their body. They should retain the choice about what to do with it.

So unvaccinated may be the beginning of a new caste system.

Sad how bitterness can warp people's minds.

Well, the Biden Administration just violated a Supreme Court ruling regarding evictions, so what about the Constitution?

LOL. Then your business would probably go bankrupt. It's easy to talk a game like that and it's easy to claim you would pay everyone a living wage. Reality is much different.

I oppose punitive measures taken by the government against those who are not vaccinated.

How do you feel about businesses discriminating?

I think that's up to individual businesses since it is very much a safety issue for both employees and customers. Plus it is voluntary on the part of an individual to be in a business.

I feel that applies to both vaccinations and mask wearing.

People caught rioting, looting and burning should lose their benefits. The unvaccinated aren't doing anything wrong. And they are no more likely to catch and spread the virus than are the vaccinated.

So9me businesses it is not a choice, they are a necessary part of life.

Businesses cannot discriminate against people for a multitude characteristics, yet they can discriminate based on a medical record. I wonder how people with communicable disease are discriminated against, in places of business.

Should we have to present an HIV negative record? How about Epstein Barr? There isn't a vaccine for that, but if someone has it, they can spread it. Matter of fact, they estimate over 95% of the population has been infected. Where is the outcry?

So is complying with the rules of said businesses, no matter how necessary they may be to life.

Community spread is a major way that variants can be introduced and thrive. Vaccinations combined with masks and social distancing are the best tools to prevent infection and prevent the spread of new variants. The less people who have the disease, the less chance mutations have of occurring and creating new variants, and the more precautions that are taken to prevent the spread, the less chance variants that do get created have to spread and become dominant. We cannot simply pretend that COVID is not a big deal just because some people place more importance on not being inconvenienced than they do on public health. We're all living in a society, which means sacrifice for the public good to some degrees. Otherwise, go live in the woods isolated from other human beings.
