    https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/cpi-report-inflation-gas-prices-rising

    HYPERLINK has full story

    snip

    Gasoline Prices +41.8%
Used Car & Truck Prices +41.7%
    Prices of Major Appliances+12.3%
Car & Truck Rental Costs +73.5%
    Airline Fares +19%
Hotel & Motel Costs +24.1% in July From a Year Ago

    end snip

The above list certainly is not all-inclusive but represents just a small sample of what we as a nation are now experiencing.

The voters had a choice in 2020 and chose this. For those who do not like the current state, be sure and thank any Democrat voter that you know. Democrat voters wanted this and here we are.

    Democrat votes have consequences.

I'm just super stoked about such rampant inflation in such a short period....

I wonder why the word "unexpectedly" hasn't been used? What's sad is the Democrat were quite clear about what they wanted to do, sadly, Democrat voters didn't realize the results that would occur from their misguided, Democrat votes.

But hey, no more mean tweets.

The tragedy is these costs inadvertently cause vastly more pain to the supporters of the democratic party than not.

The rise in inflation has now beat all others since they started recording it. It is now considered to be sticky and not transitory.

Not a Democrat, but I'm well accustomed to your choice of surrender.

Be proud of your hatred of political opponents!

Were you alive last year? Do you understand economics? Silly me. You have only one purpose here:

    Democrat[ic] votes have consequences!

You don't even know the difference between a noun and an adjective. Why would anyone trust you with knowledge of economics?

I've no hatred for anyone who voted Democrat or Republican. I'm simply pointing out the consequences of Democrat votes the past election.

Sure, on the bright side, no more mean tweets.................hmm, can't think of anything else unless stoking bigotry and inflation are considered good things

    Democrat: noun
    Democratic: adjective

I don't put much faith into such lack of education.

Have you seen steel prices this year compared to 2020? Here, have a look:

    https://tradingeconomics.com/commodity/steel

And since cars and trucks are made with a lot of steel... well, you get the idea.
    Gas prices? Well, blame OPEC.

    Picky while ignoring the message.

How about calling it Democratic when democrats start calling themselves democratics.

Before covid, I was paying about $3.75 for 91 octane. It's now about $4.25. About a 14% jump; off the top of my head. A little more than a normal summer increase, but not the runaway inflation being claimed by the rightists.

Their plan is too obvious. Take a demand deficient economy and one with pent-up demand, and claim they're comparable. It's all rightist bullshit.

The partisan mind can't help itself. In Aug 2020 economists said there will be inflation after the economic disaster of 2020, but it will come back to normal as the economy comes back to normal, and the numbers released just this week indicate they were correct. Some prices, like lumber went way up due to lack of supply, and increase in demand. Used car prices went up for various reasons, like people extending their leases and rental car companies not being in position to supply used car market with the used cars (like they usually do). Also, the year over year comparison compares Aug 2021 to Aug 2020 and no one was travelling or spending money in Aug 2020, but this year people are spending tons on money on travel and other things, which is a good thing.

An example of supply & demand issues: If you want to buy new outboard engines for your boat, expect to wait 6 months.

People trying to pin inflation on Democrats only don't have any real interest in being factual or objective. So this thread is essentially pointless. In reality where the rest of us live, there are a whole number of causes that extend beyond one political party and one president. They actually include the entire world, and that pandemic we're still going through.

And just a reminder, if we're going to try and pin issues affecting the entire world on one US political party, lets be fair and give Trump and the Republicans their share of blame since they were in office last year when this whole mess started. So simply by being in office, they are solely and exclusively responsible. At least according to the logic in this thread, which is magically only applied to Democrats.

There is no logic to the thread. It's just another in a never-ending journey to write:

    Democrat[ic] votes have consequences!

You'd be hard-pressed to find a post by the OP that doesn't include that statement.

when discussing inflation; you'd be correct because Democrat votes have consequences

when discussing other topics, they are a-political

Please do not be ashamed of your Democrat vote. You should be proud of the inflation rate.

79% Blame Government Policy for Devastating Inflation Surge.

The massive giveaways by elected Democrats to the voluntarily idle are eroding the paychecks of working Americans. Elected Dems are counting on the political support of paid off idle, we in the working class need to make sure it costs them the vote of the working folks.

His foolishness is destroying the value of your paycheck.
    Folks are hurting
Get ready for record inflation, or, record destruction of the paycheck in your pocket.
The Gentry on the Left will barely feel it, the Working Class gets hammered.

what is interesting is when Democrat policies cause infaltion, the answer from Democrats who caused the misery, is things like rent control or increase minimum wage.

In other words...........sure, we caused inflation but we will now try to control prices and wages to make up for what we screwed up with our Democrat nonsense.

In other words, a vicious circle that always fails

I'm a Democrat and I greatly benefited from the 3 stimulus checks. I didn't qualify for the extra unemployment benefits because I had a job this whole time. But, they made me glad that regular people were getting the help. And, in fact, there are continuing stimulus checks for families with children. I wouldn't change anything.

Actually no, voters didn't choose this because this isn't a result of policies. It's economic reality that the government and Fed can only do so much about.
