That's not accurate. That's NOT how suicide bombers work. They deliberately target areas with the most people with the intention of killing or injuring as many as possible. It wouldn't have mattered WHERE our military and the innocent Afghani people were actually located.

The psychology behind suicide bombers is NOT the same anti-social mindset as bombers that aren't willing to give up their life for their cause.

Suicide bombers - don't have SPECIFIC targets.
Other bombers - have SPECIFIC targets (ie. black church bombings, Timothy McVeigh, Ted Kazinsky, etc.)

Suicide bombers - don't require a plan because they know they won't be alive to face imprisonment.
Other bombers - have very definite plans because they have to cover their tracks.

Suicide bombers - don't really have a "message". They just want to cause destruction.
Other bombers - usually have a "message" they want to send.

 

Stopping individual suicide bombers has to be the hardest aspect of terrorism to stop, although we did have enough warning to clear some gates beforehand..

But with the attack this AM (our time), we do seem to be onto some of these cells, and I hope and pray that continues..

Correct. Suicide bombers can basically do what they want because there is no concern for meeting justice.

It saddens me that so many posters here have no understanding of what our military's function is and don't really seem enthused about educating themselves on that topic either.
