I haven't had any interest in the Olympics for decades. The one exception is that I have watched ice skating at times. But that too has been a very long time ago.

I could care less about any sports. I lost all interest when I stopped playing myself.

The Olympic ideals have been ground into the dust since professional sportspeople and money making have been accepted.

Ps. The recent example of the Italian and Qatari high jumpers is an exception to the usual win at all costs.

So you are still a hockey fan knowing that the NHL supports the black lives matter cause?

I watched as much of the Olympics as I could until the last 2-3 days. I find them more enjoyable when they are being held in a closer time zone.

At least NHL didn't degrade themselves, the audience, and the game with the usual BLM kneeling, fist-raising, singing a so-called "Black National Anthem", or any of that 'guerrilla theater' bullshit. If they start doing any of that, then I'm done with them, too.

I'm not going to subject myself to offensive, insulting, anti American posing and gesturing in any sport. Till they sweep it out, they can pound sand.

And to make matters worse for those that are anti mask, they encourage their fans to wear masks for public safety.

What fans? There's not a fan in the entire complex, just woke garbage that no one wants to see or hear.

I don't watch any of those sporting activities throughout the year, so I have very little interest in watching them during the Olympics. I tuned in, now and then, but never really sat down to 'watch'. The winter Olympics are far more interesting to me.

Those games were played in the bubble in Canada in 2020. No fans were allowed.

Nope. I see that the only "partner" listed for the USA is NBC. Maybe a local affiliate broadcast the olympics, but I never checked. I might have taken a peek if it had been available to stream for free online.

It is very hard to argue with you, Walter... your examples of NHL caving to 'woke' radicals at least a few times in the past is clear!

So, I'll confess that, yes, you are mostly right. I could counter that there's been a hell of a lot less of this kissing of BLM's and ANTIFA's asses in hockey than in the NFL, for instance, but that would be little more than deflection on my part.

All I can say now is that I'll see what the NHL does, going forward. If the league displays any more nauseating examples of bowing-down to radicals, then I'm done with them, as I am with the NFL.

Truth? It would be a fairly empty empty gesture on my part, because here in Colorado, the largest cable-provider and the company that has the rights to Colorado Avalanche Hockey Team games are going to be going into their THIRD year of a 'Mexican-standoff' over money, and so it looks like we who subscribe to that cable provider wouldn't get to see the games anyway.... :lonely:

You really should consider living off the grid in a cave. You may finally find some peace of mind.

I hear there are some great deals on caves in Afghanistan now.

Funny... that kind of escape from reality would be of greater comfort to the various 'woke' mobs of morons than anyone else.

Just think! They could spend joyous months just figuring out and dictating which public bathroom non-gendered people should go piss in....

Or you can still enjoy the sports that you love and not give a **** about athletes political beliefs. I myself stand for the anthem when it is played if I am at a sporting event. I also do not care if anyone else in the building does the same as me or not. I do not go to sporting events for our National Anthem, I go to these events to watch athletes play a game I enjoy to watch. I couldn't care less what these athletes do during the 2 minutes that anthem is being played or sung in the 4 plus hours I am in that arena or stadium.

You must have a higher 'burn-coefficient' than I do, Walter.

Although I haven't been in any kind of stadium in years, the mere sight of these BLM/ANTIFA/NFAC antics on television makes me want to puke my guts out!

I could go on about what I think of rich, pampered Black athletes who hate the same White Americans who made them rich, but maybe it's better to just cut it off right here....

Meh. I have always been of the opinion to not sweat the small stuff that doesn't directly affect me. No is these athletes refuse to play the game they are being paid to play, then I will have a major issue.

The results of this poll should be clear to any observer:
GET "POLITICAL-THEATER" DISPLAYS BY ANYBODY OUT OF ALL ATHLETIC EVENTS -- PERIOD! :oldman:

    That's right suppress their views.

I wonder how many stopped watching their beloved sport they enjoyed most of their lives 70-100 yrs ago, but stopped because blacks were allowed to play.
    Same scenario.

No, I'm not in favor of suppressing anyone's "views". They can buy advertising space and time on TV, radio, on the internet, and in newspapers for all I care. They can go stand on a street corner and share their "views" with people walking by... I couldn't care less....

BUT, to force it on others by deliberately staging puerile "guerrilla-theater" antics during athletic events is nothing but tiresome, radical BULLSHIT, and evidently a lot of us want no part of it.

I doubt there's ever been a time when politics and sports didn't over lap. People get old and lose interest.

Exactly. A person's personal opinions mean very little when it comes to enjoying sport played in youth and watched for most of one's life.
