Should a woman who gets pregnant for any reason be forced to give birth against her will?

Simply put, once a woman becomes pregnant for ANY reason. Be it rape. incest. failure of birth control, sheer stupidity. anything, be forced to give birth against her will?

 

That is an interesting question. I find it difficult to answer given that at least in this country, no one actual does force a woman to do so. And given that there are plenty of alternatives our there, although some do require some actual personal responsibility, women who don't wish to can take advantage of those alternatives.

 

Pretty loaded statement...Forced. Forced to take responsibility for the developing individual human life within her? Yes. Sex always comes with responsibility.

Within America:

If a man has a growth, should a religion which finds growths to be sentient beings be able to force him to keep the growth and care for it until such time as the growth dies or kills him?

If you have cattle in your yard should a religion which finds cattle to be sacred be able to force you to care for them?

Should any religion have the right to enforce it's precepts, doctrines and dogma with the force of law?

Just answer, and/or answer and explain. A formal poll here would be too distracting IMO.

 

I asked it in that fashion because the new laws coming out make no exceptions for rape or incest.

"pregnant woman forced to give birth..." by who? Nature perhaps? because the natural outcome of pregnancy is usually birth

 

Sex comes with responsibility. But being forced to give birth shouldnt be one of them.

Sec CAN be about nothing more than pleasure, without the fear of forced birth.

 

Actually, they do, as long as it is within a time frame. So, the first question one would ask, is why on earth would you wait if your were criminally impregnated to be cured of it?

Sex is designed to make babies. Killing a developing child so a person can have sex with no responsibility sounds...despicable and sick but some people value pleasure more then human life so it is what it is...

 

So, like, in countries like Afghanistan where the Taliban has started forced marriages the answer is hell yes@!

Should she be allowed to kill her baby because she was stupid which is the only reason on your list that accounts for more than a blip as far as the number of abortions that occur? Rape accounts for less than 1% of abortions but the pro-abortion side always puts that at the TOP of their list.

It's just that in 99% of instances. That doesn't change the fact that it requires responsibility, if avoiding pregnancy is the goal.

 

I don't know your laws. What do you mean by "no exceptions"? You mean the OP is stating the facts of the law?

 

It's what you get in a society which has been encouraged to abandon personal responsibility. They will fight long and hard to protect us from the consequences of our poor choices, so that we keep making more of those poor choices. They're determined to enfeeble us.

You can make your own guesses as to why they would want an enfeebled populace.

Any reason? As if you are postulating there might be a conceivable reason the woman might have gotten pregnant that could/should justify her having to give birth?

Say the pregnancy resulted from going to a fertility clinic or a sperm bank, that she intentionally and specifically chose to get pregnant.
