So I know we have a lot of people here who hate trump and voted for him to be out of office.

Can you name one way in which our country is demonstrably better off since trump left office? I mean other than “no mawr mean tweets!!!1!!!1”

If you can, by all means, please list the ways.

don't have to listen to the narcissist in chief with a fragile ego make every thing about himself every day of the week, wondering what crazy thing he will do today to try and get attention

I've always wanted to open my freezer and find a pack of pork steaks buried from 6 months ago that was less than 3$ at the time, to go ahead and eat them knowing a similar pack would now be double that price!

I've always wanted to piss away more $ for less goods and services! Biden made my dream come true!

Bro I asked you to name how our country is demonstrably better off. You had NOTHING to go to except you don’t have to listen to trump every day.

That’s fine but that also says something else. You had the opportunity to choose the economy, covid handling, wars, jobless rates, healthcare or any number of thousands of different issues. But you went with “don’t have to hear trump anymore”. Which means that you can’t point to anything demonstrable as to why we are better off as a country.

Therefore all you’ve shown is that by every other measure than “I didn’t like trump”... trump outperformed your current choice.

No I said one thing other than “no more mean tweets”. In other words something other than “I didn’t like hearing trump everyday”

Biden has only been in office for 8 months, so it is totally premature to make an assessment at this point in his presidency.

On the other hand, there is no denying that the economy has been growing strongly since his swearing in:

    - Average GDP growth rate of +6%.

    - The unemployment rate has dropped significantly from 6.3% (January) to 5.2% (August).

    - The Dow Jones - which was one of Trump's favorite measures of success - rose from 31,000 pts to 34,500 (+10%) in 8 months.

The country is therefore on the road to a solid economic recovery.

Ahhh cherry picking economic statistics. That’s cool. How confident are you those economic statistics will remain strong in 2-4 years?

More specifically I guess I should ask, what exactly has Biden done to encourage those numbers and what do you anticipate he will do in the future to protect said growth?

He increased food stamp 'payments' by 25%. (<----- No BS, I saw this on a list of his "accomplishments")

I'm sure the beneficiaries are happy they can buy more junk food or sell them for cash.

Easy for an economy to grow when it was literally shut down for a year due to a pandemic. That’s not a ****ing accomplishment. That’s called inevitability. Using that as an accomplishment is insanity.

You’ll recall the MSM and every Democrat claimed Trump would destroy the economy and start WWIII, when he ran one of the most successful economies for any president and from a military perspective, very low aggression in decades and low casualties.

But yeah, no more mean tweets. Instead we have a stuttering, blithering idiot who can’t remember WTF is going on around him and is being led around by his handlers like a child. Don’t speak sir. Don’t talk to that person sir. Only answer this question sir. Because when he opens his mouth English doesn’t even come out. It’s dementia word salad. Makes Trump sound like a genius.

Team Joe increased SNAP benefits to the point where people are getting more money for food than the food budget of an average low-income household.

In a country where obesity is a epidemic levels, the government is giving poor people more money to buy food than they actually spend on food.

This seems like a good idea?

    We'll see.

But that's not what you're asking in this thread.

You're asking if we're better off now that Biden is here, and the answer is necessarily yes.

    Two important things.

The stimulus signed in March has had a beneficial effect on the recovery. If the infrastructure one is also approved, it will be a major boost.

The tariffs imposed by Trump will be gradually lifted. This is a measure that even Republicans are calling for.

Trump's trade wars have cost 300,000 U.S. jobs and have had no effect on the trade balance.

I run a register as part of my job (which of course, means I "make to much" for food stamps) Sometimes they leave their EBT receipts. I see balances of 1,000+ dollars....How the HELL does anyone get that kind of EBT $ ?

90% of what you see people spend EBT on is pure junk food....then we get to foot the bill for their poor health! EBT should ONLY buy whole foods.

I know you will never give Biden any credit for anything.

And I have to say, I don't really care.

The only thing we can agree on is that it's economic health that decides whether or not a POTUS gets re-elected.

And if growth continues - along with so many other factors - Biden will serve his two terms without difficulty.

Ironically, Fl EBT cards say "office of economic self sufficiency" on them. Was this someone's idea of a joke?
