And we spent like crazy to keep covid from creating another 1929-1941 Great Depression and Trump pulled it off. He got us the vaccines and saved the economy. Now FY22 is a time to curb spending, not adding more.

    Know that they hate you.

    Who’s Worse—Obama or Springsteen?
Know that they casually lie about you and slander you, even if you support them politically and financially.

Really, you don’t know the difference ? Sunset cuts by Bush sunset on their own. Permanent need an act of Congress. Huge difference you weren’t aware of obviously.

In my view, it takes profound levels of gullibility to believe any politician/party cares about you. Care is the packaging, power is the product they are selling.

At least one party is promoting legislation that does indicate the gov is responding to people’s needs, including their protection from harm and equal opportunity which are the essential obligations of the Fed.

The other party thinks putting the country into perpetual recessions with people losing their jobs and homes….”is good for building character.”

Exactly what? No legislation has been passed nor executive order relating to energy.

    .
First off, covid wouldn't have caused a great depression, because the great depression gained it's force after the banking holiday, which wouldn't occur today because of the FDIC. Covid was a disrupting force, but it isn't a symptom of economics.

Trump made it a lot worse. First thing he id was he failed to acknowledge it's severity. This explicit of downplaying Covid-19 was either an act to overtly spread misinformation or it was a reflection of complacency, but in either case it led to an inadequate Covid-19 response. Then increased the upward trajectory of covid cases by refusing testing (because, 'testing causes cases' he said, 'slow the testing down' he said), which, in the incipient stages, would have diminished that upward trajectory. He also resisted helping states, he emasculated the pandemic response world wide infrastructure because, he said 'he didn't want professionals sitting around' ( WTF does that mean? ). Third, the administration provided some personal protective equipment but failed to make supplies of it for health care workers and schools available at the scale necessary to meet the needs. Without sufficient supplies of the basic equipment needed, it is hard to protect yourself from covid. Fourth, the administration pressured for FDA EUAs of treatments such as hydroxychloroquine without sufficient evidence of potential effectiveness, Fifth, even after states like New York showed that physical distancing (in many forms), mask use, avoidance of large gatherings, hand sanitization, staying home when ill, and other basic techniques served to bring down cases, hospitalizations and death rates, the administration encouraged states to abandon such effective strategies even in the face of widespread community transmission (such as in FLA) and if they did not, the President encouraged residents of jurisdictions such as Michigan to "Liberate" their state.
Sixth, the President chose to demonize researchers whose findings did not suit him (such as calling the work of researchers finding no benefit to hydroxychloroquine, an "enemy statement"), thereby putting some scientists in a position of not only defending their science but also their motives for conducting urgent and important research in the first place. Such assaults on science and scientists can lead researchers to think twice about engaging in potentially lifesaving work, and can set back the scientific process such that evidence-based answers to pressing societal challenges are slower in their evolution. Seventh, Trump embarked on a path 'herd immunity' which resulted in lax attitudes, letting society do it's thing, with the idea that the faster society gets to herd immunity, we would be better off. However, doing that was a disaster, causing needless deaths in the pursuit of a highly elusive goal.

I could go on, but you get the picture.

covid didn't enter the picture until his final year in office. I liked the $2T stimulus, but he didn't pay for it, in fact, he did absolutely the wrong thing, he gave rich folks a $1.9 trillion tax cut, well, that cut money could have paid for the stimulus, and the inflation we are experiencing now wouldn't be anywhere near as bad.

The current spending bill in actual fact, over a 10 year period, increases the budget from $60trillion to $62trillion, and increase of 1.2% of GDP and America needs things like child tax credits, child pre K, lots of good things in the bill, plus the infrastructure bill is greatly needed, which Trump failed to get passed.

Oh cool, you must believe things like inflation is not a hidden tax or ridiculous budgets for special interest projects are not paid by all.

Inflation kills the middle class. It’s caused by too much money in the hands of rich people and not the middle class. There are perfect examples all around you. Rich people due to the last tax cuts are way out of control. Open your eyes. You can see it everywhere. What stops inflation is the redistribution of wealth so the middle class has more buying power. The quickest and easiest is universal healthcare and infrastructure by taxing these out of control rich.

While everyone else is suffering, my rich neighbor has four airplanes and a chopper. He buys a hundred acreas for his own landing area and is holding everything for himself and immediate family. Anyone who lives anywhere near rich people knows that’s what is happening. They are spending our healthcare money and infrastructure funds. My neighbor is building his own private road for two miles to his landing area...that no one else benefits from.

This crap is being repeated all over America.

There are plenty of $100k cars available now along with $70k pickup trucks, but few of lesser value. It’s the same with all goods. The prices would stabilize if the money was not all in the hands of the crazy rich people......and they are crazy.

The middles class has to weight months for a new pair of shoes while the rich get the best of everything because of the difference in buying power. When the wealth I spread out, the prices moderate because the buying power is still for less expensive but more necessary goods....like energy.

The fuel for building by the rich is way too expensive, but the rich can afford while we the middles class have to suffer. the higher energy costs drives up the price of everything. You have to have blinders on to see who is doing best during inflation............its the RICH through GOP stimulus. It’s rich person SOCIALISM. THE TOP ONE PERCENT IS DOING GREAT, just like they do in a recession when they buy everything up.

The conservative rebutted always gets back to immigrants and non whites as the problem. The immigrant problem is exacerbated by the rich and corporations who are sponsoring immigrants looking for jobs. Look around. Every-time a corporation hires an immigrant for slave labor instead of a union job, it costs all of us.

Well maybe if your party gave a damn about American citizens it wouldn't be an issue that would come up so often.

Where's my almost half a million dollars just for existing and breaking the law?

Oh that's right I get to take my ass to work and pay for that.

I stopped reading early on when you got the cause of inflation wrong and then when you went on about wealth redistribution I lost all interest.

I've already posted this: Middle class income went way up under Trump.

Middle class wages grew for six straight years under Obama before Trump took over. Then after 128 straight months of growth, Trump had his usual repo recession. The middle class started falling behind before Trump miss handled covid response.
