Writers in Washington have been talking about the benefits that would entail if Russia was to lose a war with Ukraine. This quest towards war, might account for Ukraine's provocations along the Donetsk border as well as Nato's actions in the Black Sea.

This also makes the migrant problems with Belarus and Poland suspicious, since Poland and Ukraine have been heavily involved in trying to overthrow Lukashenko and pull it out of Russia's orbit - probably in preparation for a war.

The US, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine began drills in the Black Sea this week after the USS Mount Whitney the flagship of the US Sixth Fleet, and the USS Porter, a guided-missile destroyer, entered the Black Sea last week.

Russia also noticed a dramatic rise in the NATO reconnaissance flights near its borders in the Black Sea on Saturday. Vladimir Putin said that the US and its NATO allies were conducting unscheduled drills in Black Sea waters, concentrating “not only a powerful ship group…but also strategic aviation.”

He conveyed to Angela Merkel that these activities in the Black Sea were destabilizing, dangerous and provocative and that Russia's Defense Ministry wanted to hold their own exercises in the area, but he felt there was no reason to further escalate the situation there.

The Military Observer that tracks global military operations and conflicts, reported that a US Air Force Lockheed U-2S Dragon Lady spy plane operating out of the Akrotiri air base on Cyprus spent about five hours over Ukrainian and international airspace in the Black Sea attempting to monitor Russian military activities.

Earlier, the Russian Defence Ministry indicated that a total of six NATO reconnaissance aircraft had been spotted operating in the Black Sea region over the course of 24 hours. The aircraft were said to have been detected and tracked throughout their flights by the radar systems of Russia’s air defence troops.

A day earlier, the Russian military detected a US Air Force E-8C reconnaissance and strike coordination plane over the Black Sea, saying it came within 35 km of the Russian frontier.

The Russian Aerospace Forces detected a dramatic uptick in NATO reconnaissance flights near Russia’s maritime borders in the Black Sea on Saturday, with the Defence Ministry warning that the bloc’s activities pose “a threat to regional security and strategic stability.”

Black Sea is no longer a "Russian lake".....Botox shrimp will need to get used to it.

Besides if Vladolf Putler doesn't like it.....whats he going to do?

Fire warning shots ....from miles away at a British/US ship...to make it look good. Then go on National TV ,lie his a$$ off and claim we "ran them outta dodge"?....:))

Now if Russia was an aggressive nation and decided provoke us, they would send ships to the Caribbean as a favor to Venezuela and that way insure free passage in the waters.

Better yet, China should do it now that it has the largest navy in the world. The difference is of course, that the Black Sea is a closed sea according to the Montreaux Treaty, so the American ships really shouldn't be there, while the Caribbean is not.

AS BIDEN SETTLES INTO ADVANCED DEMENTIA: Is Eastern Europe On The Edge of War?

“Russia has been massing thousands of troops near the border of Ukraine yet flatly states it’s not invading. Belarus has ‘weaponized’ illegal immigrants on the borders of Poland, Lithuania, and Latvia as they attempt to forcibly enter the countries. NATO is worried. Even Blinken mentioned the situation is ‘concerning’ and warned Russia from making a grave mistake. Eastern Europe is in trouble.”

Sure would be nice to a have a President with an actual working brain right now.

Yeah let's wag the dog and have a nice little shooting war....with a country in possession of a more than credible strategic nuclear arsenal....it's one thing to bomb unopposed Russian surrogates, may be quite another with the Russian military...and forgive me if I really don't give a rat's ass what idiots in Eastern Europe do, I live here.

My thoughts are that if they keep poking that Russian Bear, sooner or later he will react.

Russian "bear" only reacts to Ukranian tugs....it won't mess with NATO ships.....firing warning shots at a British destroyer from 4 mi away as the destroyer gave the middle finger doesn't cut it.

It messed with the Aegis class (I think the Porter that's there now) several years back when it went solo into the Black Sea. Scared and embarrassed the crew and the Navy, but the only harm was to the huge ego of the US government. They kept that one as quiet as they could.

Hardly a concern now....Vladolf Putler goes on National TV after British ship incident....lies his a$$ off about running the Brits outta town....Black Sea is intl waters....not some exclusive Russki lake.....as Sea Breeze in June demonstrated.

Odessa will be a great Nato port....no protests or mongrel protesters this time. Locals were eager to mingle with Nato navy....not like Mafialand that rapes everything in site ....hopefully Odessa can shed that "Soviet dinosaur" image and return to the vibrant city it used to be before all this Russki Marxists Leninist BS.

The Russian troops are not on the Ukrainian border, and those who are saying it are deliberately spreading fake news. Writers in Washington have said that they want a war between Ukraine and Russia, so everything that is going on has to be seen in that context.

This includes the migrants in Belarus - which the Turkish airlines have been bringing in from all over the Middle East. It also includes the war that is breaking out again between
    Azerbaijani and Armenia.

Washington wants to get Russia embroiled in as many conflicts as possible before Ukraine attacks - but Putin doesn't play games. If he doesn't stop others through peaceful means, then he'll use the slam dunk method like in Grozny and now in Northern Syria. Anyone who thinks differently is deceiving themselves.

Russia doesn't want Ukraine, they can't afford it. It took Western Germany 10 years to bring the economy of Eastern Europe up to par. It can't allow though the Nazis to exterminate the Russian population on lands and cities that were always part of the Russian Empire. Nor can they allow Nato to establish itself in Ukraine or on the Black Sea, since it then becomes an existential threat to them.

Whoever believes otherwise is fooling themselves.

The port in Odessa is a rinkey dink tugboat scrapyard....I've laid eyes on it first hand. It fits nicely with the rest of the country...the most of which is a third world shithole. The most corrupt, mafia run 'country' in Europe is 'Ukraine'. It's the only place I've ever seen $400,000 dollar Ferraris parked next to $400 dollar Soviet-era Ladas.

Russia doesn't want Ukraine. People have got to understand that every former Soviet country except for Ukraine is better off now than it was when the Soviet Union collapsed. Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia...you name it. All better off and have progressed. Ukraine? A ****ing welfare state that sticks its greedy corrupt hands out at western countries for free handouts and aid. It's literally the armpit of Europe.

    Writers in Washington are stupid.

QP-QP4: Yugoslavia (US denies Russian navy use of ports in Adriatic and eliminates threat of forward operating airbases for bombers)
KN-Q4: Afghanistan (US establishes jumping off point for Iran)
KN-K6: Iraq (US establishes jumping off point for Iran)
KN-B7: Libya (US denies Russian navy use of ports in Mediterranean and eliminates threat of forward operating airbases for bombers)
QN-QN5: Tunisia (US denies Russian navy use of ports in Mediterranean and eliminates threat of forward operating airbases for bombers)
QN-Q6: (Check): Syria (US drives Russia totally out of the Mediterranean)
QN-QN7 (Check): Iran (US denies Russia access to Persian Gulf/Arabian Sea/Indian Ocean)
KP-KP5 (Check): Central Asia (US can now smuggle weapons and supplies and money to "pro-Democracy" groups_
    KB-KN2 (Check): Eastern Russian republics
Q-Q2: White resigns (US/Britain establish No-Fly Zone in eastern Russian republics enforced by NATO bases in Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Central Asia)

Obviously, some of you just don't freaking get it.

When Bush said the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq were to preserve the "American way of life" he was not talking about democracy.

Bush was talking about the ability of Americans to consume everything on Earth like a plague of locusts.

It's about the economy and protecting the US Dollar and economic prosperity. Your government says so:

The costs of not implementing this strategy are clear. Failure to meet our defense objectives will result in decreasing U.S. global influence, eroding cohesion among allies and partners, and reduced access to markets that will contribute to a decline in our prosperity and standard of living.

    [emphasis mine]

    There's no excuse for ignorance.

My understanding is that girls got an education, people were taught liberal
democratic ideas, tolerance was encouraged, aid was given, roads were
    built, modern medicine arrived etc..
Sure, people aren't going to accept everything, but you can throw a shoe
at a president in Iraq now, and the Taliban 'promise' not to return to their
bad old ways due to changes in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile no-one has jumped off at Iran.

The US has pressured Cyprus and Greece not to give access to Russian ships, and they acquisced not because they wanted to since they have a historic relationship with Russia, but they need the US protection because of the Turkish threat.

As for Syria, I believe Russia has enlarged its bases there, and is blasting the hell out of the Turkish supported militants around Idlib.

Anyway we're pushing for war, and whoever believes differently is a fool.

Seems to me Lukashenko knows how to take out the trash. The EU created that mess, so why should Belarus have to take them in?

I've been to Minsk. Safe and clean. A little surprised actually.

I've also been to a few places in Ukraine. I don't need wikipedia when I've stood at the docks.

Some of you commenters rely on the fake news, I rely on first hand knowledge. May I suggest investing in a plane ticket for educational purposes?

An analyst said that there are two groups in Washington. The Biden Obama group that prefers stealth rather than out and out war, and the Clinton neo cons who are embedded everywhere, and are pushing for an out and out war between Russia and Ukraine.

They're all idiots you know? The idea that their actions might lead to a World War is beyond them. Putin re-emphasized today that they shouldn't take Russia's red lines lightly.

The reason Biden met with Xi might be to calm things in the Pacific, as they try to weaken Russia on all fronts for the coming war with Ukraine.

As for the American people, of course we don't want a war, but what do Americans know other than their domestic problems and what we're being told by the propaganda networks.

I love Ukraine, for all the gain
    that they have given me.
And will not wane in throwing blame
    for all their misery,
on Russia with its evil men
    who haven't done them right.
    We'll send them arms
    for all those harms
to help them win their fight.

You convinced me – I should trust an anonymous person who can be from Russia, Belarus or Israel instead of trusting BBC, NYT, Guardian or other fake news.
