    HYPERLINK has full story

    snip

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said Monday she expects current record-high inflation to ease, with monthly rates falling back to 0.2 or 0.3 percent in the second half of 2022.

“I’m hoping and expecting in the second half of next year, to see monthly CPI (consumer price index) rates coming in more in the range of two tenths or three tenths,” Yellen told an annual meeting of the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce in the state of Rhode Island.

    end snip

We need not even discuss how none of her "expectations" have been realistic. Given that, at least the Democrat administration now acknowledges high inflation and that it is no longer "transitory".

If the voters eliminate Democrat control in 2022 then her prediction will occur in 2023. If the voters continue to vote for harmful, Democrat policies like the bloated spending bill they are now trying to pass, then inflation will persist and people will continue to be harmed.

In conclusion; Kudos to the Democrat administration for being bold enough to admit that inflation is not a figment of our imagination nor a vast right-wing conspiracy.

Democrat voters voted for this train wreck; we all now suffer

    It will be a transitory .02-.03 percent.:roflol:

Side note: The Fed Reserve has actually announced they can't control this current inflation even though they've put their boot on the throat of the Prime Interest Rate. and even though controlling inflation is the main goal of the Fed Reserve...The Fed Reserve and Yellin are liars, er, they don't wish to create a panic for something that's already occurred...High and non-transitory inflation.

Thanks for the good news! Hope she's correct.. I suspect she knows more about it than you do....

Again, isn't it nice to have an administration address a problem versus ignoring it?? I think it is...

BTW, don't you feel just the TINIEST bit embarrassed to start a link on the American economy from something called MacauBusiness.com??

Here's a nice calm-down article for ya, Mr. Little

LOL. Is the same Yellen who claimed inflation to be "transitory"?

next time at the grocery store, why not ask a parent with a couple of kids in tow if they appreciate paying more and your Democrat vote that helped bring that to reality

I'd suggest having your exit mapped out in advance.

You don’t think global supply chain issues have had anything to do with our current inflation?

How the supply chain caused current inflation, and why it might be here to stay

I'll ask them first if they're glad to be alive and out shopping, in complete defiance of the GOP Death Plan...

Then I'll look in their cart and see what they are actually buying... Most people are freaking terrible shoppers...

Finally, a LOT of people are spending (discretionary) money to have grocery stores fill out their bags for pickup or delivery... which is why much of the time in the grocery stores we shop in these days, they are very quiet

(Pro Tip... those stores tend to put the better produce in those bags... Don't be afraid to ask the produce clerk to find better example of fruits and veggies in the back if you don't like what you see in the bins).

But, as you said, this is likely to quiet down by 3Q 2022, if not sooner, so snowflakes need to toughen up for a bit and hopefully they've put aside some of their COVID relief funds for this drizzly day....

Can you recall what you were paying for a gallon of milk compared with now?

Are you kidding? T**** would be personally out at the White House pump filling up everybody's tank and giving them cash for their trouble of even needing to get gas...

BTW, it was the Unicorns that stole the election for Biden...

There are two chances or what Yellen says happening, slim and none. And slim just left town.

would you like to reply to my questions about what you were paying then, vs now?

Or, is the answer harmful to your agenda?

Not really, as there is no need to deflect from this positive prediction from the SecTreas...

So I call your false call of my post as a strawman .... a strawman...

    Winning!

It's not hard to find the answer

    https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=pet&s=emm_epm0_pte_nus_dpg&f=m

Go back and check what we were paying back in summer 2008, then watch how the price DIVES during the Bush recession...

IOW, low gas prices are not always the best indicator of financial health...

Liberals/Communists always claim to be for the "people" but the reality is they are elitists and view the people as a stupid inferior class. Your post demonstrates this, e.g., people are "freaking terrible" [shoppers], people improperly spend discretionary money [they are stupid], people don't know to ask questions, i.e., talk to produce clerk, too stupid to be aware of the GOP death plan, etc.

Of course putting away the Covid money for a rainy day as you suggest may mean letting the buying power of that money be inflated away by Biden's monetary policy. As an aside I used my stimulus money for 60 round PMAG drum magazines and a couple of chainsaws (to implement my personal energy policy). Thanks Joe.

BTW, what is the GOP death plan? I am unaware of such a plan.

“I think in the second half of next year, we’ll begin to see inflation subside and the way you’ll be able to see that is by looking at monthly inflation rates,” added Yellen, who addressed the forum virtually.

I sure am glad Yellen pointed that out because I would have never known that. I knew you could see inflation rise by watching it monthly but watching it subside monthly?! Such an economic genius! And it hinges on what other countries do to get our imports from them. That's a lot of hope.

She added that as demand shifts from goods to services and as immunization is ramped up in Asia, where a large part of the goods imported and sold in the United States and around the world are manufactured, supply chain pressures will ease.

    This may help. https://www.macrotrends.net/2501/crude-oil-vs-gasoline-prices-chart
See if you can figure out why the gas prices started climbing under Trump, but it's Biden's fault.
If you can't figure out what is the error in your question, you probably wouldn't understand the explanation either.

Sorry you didn't hear about the plan, but as you are (apparently) alive, I also congratulate you!!

The rest of your post is your projection as I called nobody stupid...

With these massive spending bills I’m more concerned about hyper inflation showing it’s face. They haven’t done a single thing to slow inflation. Not one. Their agenda is hurting the economy and if they keep it up it will get worse before it gets better.
