    What a lame response

Explain why the government using EVERYONE's taxpayer dollars build all these charging stations instead of the companies that will be selling the electricity and the people using them? Did the government build all the gas stations for automobiles when we were transitioning for horse and buggies to automobiles?

How much range have you lost since it was new?

So it doesn't burn hydrogen what does it need hydrogen for?

Hydrogen fuel cells combine hydrogen and oxygen to generate an electric current. The hydrogen comes from a pressurized storage tank and the oxygen comes from the atmosphere. The by-product of the reaction is water. There's no combustion involved to my knowledge.

So it needs pure oxygen and pure hydrogen? Or does it just use atmospheric gases?

And it doesn't need a large amount of hydrogen like it would if it was in a regular internal combustion engine running on it?

Pure gaseous hydrogen from a tank, unpure atmospheric oxygen through an intake port, the same stuff we breathe.

Good question on the amount of hydrogen needed to run a fuel cell. I'll have to do more research on that.

Fun fact: hydrogen fuel cell technology has existed for a long time. The Apollo missions used them for electrical power in their spacecraft. Battery technology wasn't what it is today, and this was clearly a lower weight option. Weight is everything in the spaceflight business.

okay so this stuff we breathing is only 19% oxygen that's enough to cause this reaction I suppose
Interesting. I can't imagine using a lot of hydrogen because the containers needed to carry it or quite something.

Update: looks like a fuel cell car can go up to 370 miles on a tank, which is on par with some battery-powered vehicles. However, I'm also reading that the conversion from electricity (from nuclear, wind, solar, etc) to hydrogen and then back to electricity within the vehicle is far less efficient than battery powered. I guess the only advantage is that it's faster to refill your car with hydrogen than it is to sit and wait for a battery to charge. The infrastructure needed for a hydrogen economy is cost prohibitive at the moment. Who knows, maybe the technology will improve someday and make it viable.

I'll have to read up on these hydrogen fuel cells for some reason I thought it was producing hydrogen to run a combustion engine apparently I was wrong

Surprisingly we have gained range due to ota updates from Tesla. I know it is above 300 miles now and it was high 200’s when we got it. I don’t know the exact specifics but I can ask my husband if you are interested.

I'm sorry but that is total bullshit. Batteries degrade over time they don't get better.

The reluctance people have to adopt electric vehicles is the total bullshit people make up about them.

So you ask a question, they tell you and you call them a liar because their answer doesn't suit your agenda?

It would have taken five seconds to google instead of removing all doubt but as always that is too much for you

The only reluctance people should have on electric vehicles is if they need more range or they have limited charging options near them. Both are rapidly being addressed. Unfortunately there are many people spewing lies about a topic they cannot comprehend.

It’s a fascinating agenda they have really.

It covers everything from vaccines (that they cannot comprehend), to election law (that they cannot comprehend), to electric vehicles (that they cannot comprehend)

Seems to be a trend. At least they are predictable I guess.

I don't need to Google it it's bullshit.

These batteries are magical and work the opposite of every other battery known to man in the entirety of human existence.

This amazing battery technology that causes the battery To go reverse through Time that's something people should probably patent.

It isn’t my fault you don’t understand efficiency updates. I listed two sources. There are thousands of them on google but a desire to be educated and informed is required.

Since that is too much to ask we are done here

Such a pathetic and incompetent agenda

I don't think the government should ever give a penny to a for-profit business. I don't care what industry.

A company that is too big to fail, is simply too big.

Oh how we kvetch about poor people getting a dollar, but the moment Mr. Too Big to Fail goes down, we throw out billions like it's beads on Mardi Gras.

The federal government should not be using my tax money to pick winners and losers.

Not sure why you are arguing with me.

    Well you said

How do our tax dollars GO TO that when the drilling companies PAY to lease those lands. And what are you calling the "market rate" for those lands? I believe those leases are auctioned off in the open market so the market determines the value.

It's not that I don't understand them it's that it's bullshit. You can't update a battery the more you cycle it the less charge it has that's a fact of life.

My agenda is not accepting BS. I don't care if you think it's pathetic I don't

Add reading comprehension to the deficits.

I said we have had increased range. If you bothered to read either source they show that systems were made more efficient through OTA updates thereby extending the range of the vehicles.

I guess it is a difficult concept to grasp for some.

Actually, from that point onwards you can choose green energy.
