Well, chances are, you were right. According to the results of an epic Pew Study, the majority of leftist women have mental issues. That’s right; over 50% of leftist women are actually insane.

The study, carried out in March 2020, was meant to study how the Covid pandemic and government policies related to it affected the lives and mental health of Americans.

Trying to paint people as mentally ill is the very definition of gas-lighting, not to mention is is also childish. Critical thinkers verify claims before repeating then, while the gullible lap it up and pass it on. A quick search shows 51 million Americans suffer from mental disorders, so the math in the heavily biased article simply does not add up.

Dude, I live in Australia. I don't even know where to begin. We've had a fraction of the deaths, most of the population is vaccinated and things are pretty much back to normal.

Overall it's been a resounding success.

Just a few minutes ago I read a story on the Australian quarantine camps, which said three young men who tested negative yesterday were arrested for climbing the fence and trying to leave. They were put there not because they had covid, but because someone they were close to had it.

Now while I've always wanted to see Australia and never made it, I always thought of Australians as strong reasonable people with a pretty stable government.
However, anytime a government uses fear and force against people who have not done anything wrong- it constitutes tyranny for the sake of control.
That begs the question- how much of your freedom are you willing to surrender for the promise of safety, which in fact they have minimal control over?

The old adage about "Give them an inch and they will take a mile" is invariably true with governments. Once they get some kind of power established- it only grows.
There's got to be a better way to deal with a virus than concentration camps, and that is certainly what they appear to be.

The rule above is an observation of the common tactic. Besides, gas-lighting the people who have made gas-lighting their primary strategy wouldn't teach them a damn thing. They have no idea what's real, actually believe they can make up reality and thinking it makes it so.

Read the article, and see what it claims, and then read the study which it refers to and learn that the study does not even begin to say what the BS article claims it says. The OP article is BS, and it should have been obvious even to you, but you swallowed it hook, line and sinker.

It's a quarantine centre.

It seems to be an odd thing to have to explain but the idea of a quarantine centre is that you stay there to see if you develop the disease. That's why it's called quarantine.

It's not an issue for most people, including returning travellers that stay here, however for the first time really during the pandemic (thanks to our incredibly good management) a small number of Aboriginal people are being housed there [the article says 3 teenagers, right?]. And some of them do have impulse control and they're very sensitive to being locked up, in many cases due to legitimate bad experiences in custody.

The alternative of course is to let them go and possibly risk spreading Covid throughout their sensitive communities. Well no, we won't be doing that.

I do appreciate that you have linked to a reasonable article about the issue though. Let's hope that the very minimum of our sensitive Aboriginal people need to be quarantined in the future.

I hope this provides a bit of an alternative perspective and reassures you that we don't like to restrict freedom of movement of our citizens unless it's for good reason.

"The three boys aged 15, 16 and 17, are from an aboriginal community called Binjari where they were placed into the camp after being marked as close contacts of “COVID” positive cases in the area. Sounds like strongly forced compliance to me. Other articles cover Australians outside the country trying to come home- and being blocked with massive steps to prevent that, even specialized up-charge airfares as much as $30K.....

No government should create criminals, not imprison people who have not committed a crime for anything- and fining them, tracking them down like animals isn't compatible with any kind of balanced system of government. The more I look into this, the more of the same thing shows up- and nothing to the contrary. Taking freedom from your neighbor isn't irrelevant because it's not you at the moment. It's the proof that it will be you when those doing it find it convenient.

Then throw in the fact they now plan to put a quarantine camp on Christmas island- to keep people in exile. As Australia was once used as a place to dump criminals, I would think a modern day exile island would be highly offensive to all Australians

I just did a quick scan of the article to get the gist of it but it did clearly state the study was done March 2020, the extreme early days of the pandemic. No one develops mental disorders that fast, let alone as wide a discrepancy as a 25 point difference between the liberal group and conservative/independents.


edit: yeah, did a scan of the original study and I’m not seeing anything regarding mental disorders, so atm I’ll conclude this is “fake news”. If anyone can help me out if I missed it though by all means…
