'Pope, You Are a Heretic!' – Francis Confronted by Elderly Orthodox Priest (breitbart.com)

If the world community, the leaders of powerful states, and international organizations do not take bold decisions, the ever-threatening presence of vulnerable refugee women and children will continue to grow globally,” Ieronymos warned. “Together we must shake the rocks and the walls against the intransigence of the powerful of the Earth.”

the church I was raised in has gone away, I left years ago, I wonder what practicing Catholic's think? Catholic's, please tell me what you think?

What is this priest demanding of Francis?

This appears to be something to do with refugees, but it's hard to tell. If it is, then I agree with the priest - something must be done to STOP migration. Not sure what the Pope can do about that, though. It's more a problem for individual nations to solve for themselves. They need to prevent their people from leaving en masse, and thus burdening other nations - many of which are increasingly unable to support this tide of hungry mouths. When the majority of these 'refugees' are heading to only a small number of Western nations, any semblance of sustainability is just that .. a semblance. The balance will tip very very quickly, and those few burdened nations will soon be in no position to help anyone.

If poor nations need help for their own people, rich nations should be sending that help to them in the form of resources. The very worst thing to do is traffic people around the globe in search of those resources. It's the worst thing to do for those poor nations, the worst thing to do for the planet, the worst thing to do in a pandemic, and the worst thing to do for the individuals involved.

    Atheist. Former Catholic.

I think about this the same way I think about all interactions between humans. Arguing, anger, name calling, etc. doesn't solve anything.

    Never has. Never will.

Note that there are two separate people here. An unnamed Orthodox priest heckled the Pope, apparently shouting "You're a heretic!", but there is no follow-up on that at all. The quote is from the head of the Orthodox Church who the Pope was meeting (Ieronymos) and was a shared opinion from both of them.

Flooding the Western countries with refugees is all part of the master plan to destroy those countries.

Could be. I would have thought it was more about the elites increasing the consumption-dependent underclass. When you consider that those living in developing nations are usually far more self-sufficient than the average First Worlder, AND don't spend nearly enough money to please the elites - moving them to places where they will a) become as helpless as the urban First Worlder, and b) have more money to spend, will be a huge win.

The thing is that , with all of the spy agencies those countries have, they should know exactly who is behind it and take them out. They haven't taken any action to protect their countries so their leaders must be in on it.

A country doesn't end up corrupt because the peasants will it. It always comes from the top. It's merely supported by the peasantry, once corruption is enculturated. Unfortunately some cultures do lend themselves to the manifestation of currupt dictators .. primarily because they practice authority veneration. It's the reason Western nations rarely see dictators - we don't automatically respect authority, and we don't punish open dissent (well we didn't for most of the last hundred years, though I can see that changing given the rise of Progressivism).

The thing is that religious people, especially Christians and Muslims, are commanded by their holy books to be subservient to authority figures in all things. So, when you see a rebel Christian or Muslim, you are seeing a heretic who does not believe in or follow the official religious doctrine in the holy books.

Doesn't matter. That stuff was never as strong and universal as cultures in which ALL authority is venerated unquestioningly (from elder siblings, right up to kings).

Oh for heaven's sake, the newspapers are making a big thing out of nothing. He's a Greek priest and it's a battle that's been going on since the schism - and that was over a thousand years ago. At least this time there weren't monks picketing the visit - and that's an improvement.

    Former Catholic.

I was raised to believe that the pope is infallible in all church matters. I think Christianity has gotten so far from it's roots, it's rather pointless, now. Every Christian I meet has a different version of what it means to be a good Christian. So many ignore every aspect of the bible, except their own pet issue. I think Jesus probably thought it was all pretty important.

If the 535 elected criminals in DC were true, god-fearing, obedient Christians, there would be no corruption in DC, and the main goal of Congress would be to serve the people of this country.

That the pope is being criticized is not a surprise. He's no longer important to the church. (Not Francis, any pope.) John Paul II was probably the last pope to receive the respect and deference that a pope is supposedly due.

I actually hate Catholic charities; they think they can change these people to the religion of the pope

I can't see any heresy between the teachings of the Churches, all I see are cultural differences between East and West. But these things can be serious because as liberalism takes a greater hold over the Western world, the East is pulling more towards the spirituality of the ancient church.

Christians are not taught to be subservient to anyone, they are taught to perfect their souls so they can unite with a perfect God and enter His spiritual existence.

A sin is a sin is a sin. Anyway, the Orthodox Church believes that everything we do and what we are, will affect even our physical world, and that stands true for biological anomalies as well.

Intolerance though has never been on the same level as the West, since the East has always been more flexible and accepting of the shortcomings of others.

It has nothing to do with refugees. The Orthodox Church and the Christians have been very compassionate towards them. When Golden Dawn was refusing to feed them, they were being fed at the monasteries.

He's just a fundamentalist Greek priest, and these feelings towards the Pope go back more than a millenium. This is what the schism was all about. That there weren't some fundamentalist monks carrying placards calling Pope Francis the antichrist is an improvement, I think.

It seems to me, any doctrinal disagreement between the two would count as a heresy. The supremacy of the Pope, the relation between the Father and the Son, the significance of Jesus' suffering, etc.

The whole established religious organizations of Christians are heresy and fake Christians.
