Nothing in McTurtle's history suggests he requires a pretense to act in ways that achieve his goals and therefore hurt the country. As illustrated by his steadfast refusal to allow Obama to fill vacant seats on the DC circuit court of appeals for no other reason than not doing so resulting in a liberal majority.

The principle being to protect an arcane rule and in so doing allow Repubs to corrupt election processes. Something Jack favors and or pretends is not happening.

there's really no time for voting issues, Covid, inflation, energy costs, supply side shortages, we have more Trump investigations to pursue. Dems will turn everything back to Trump. Let's see how that plays in November, almost 2 years into Biden's term. Glad I live comfortably, my home heating cost was $700 last month. Not so good for many. Now back to the investigations.

Sinema is pretty much 80% Democrat, if not more. She ain't joinin the red team just to stay in power.

Ummmmmmmmmm, you need to reread my post again. ASSUMING Sinema could be primaried, Arizona is not a blue state and actually leans red. In other words, it is not progressive territory. Primary Sinema out with a progressive and you lose the blue seat to the red team in the general election. But, you're wrong. Primarying Sinema out would be a hard fight, possible but not easy.

She just got censured by her state party... they will not support her... she has other sources of support and funding (wink wink), but they won't be nearly enough to overcome a party shut out...

Here's sorta what happens when your state party abandons you

You continue your misinformation that Arizona is a blue state. It's not. It's not only purple but it leans right. If you primary Sinema out and replace her with a progressive, that blue seat turns red in the general election. Arizonians are not going to elect a Bernie or an AOC to the senate. Go ahead and get rid of her. I double dog dare you.

Oh, well you didn't mention a double dog dare....

I have no idea who Arizona will vote in in 2024, but it won't be this chick... that you can take to the bank....

Better to take your chances with somebody you can trust when the cards are on the table...

Also hate to point out that the D's have won the last 3 statewide elections in Arizona.... I think D over R outweighs Progressive over Unstable...

Fine by me. If you want a blue senate seat to turn red then by all means, primary her out. The odds strongly favor the red team. Sinema was the first blue senator elected in Arizona in a very long time and she did it because she was a moderate. While you're at it, go after Manchin too and then we can have two blue senate seats turn red to go along with a Republican House. Stupid is as stupid does.

Nah.. we know Houseboat Joe is untouchable in deep Appalachia, but the Senate seat in Ariz is there for a progressive Latino to take... and I can guess who their preferred candidate will be...

    In Arizona:

For the primary, I'm guessing Latinos would prefer another Latino over a Bimbino...

For the general, we'll see what level of MAGA the GOP selects to run for Senate in 2024... assuming MAGA (or the GOP) still exists....

Not at all. I've have argued elsewhere, several times, that McConnell is the one great man in Washington at this time.

No group should get special rights. Rights apply to everyone and when they don't they're no longer rights they're just privileges. But this is a lost battle just ask any man who wants to play on a girls team.

As for same day registration the reason there is a waiting period is because, despite our technological superiority, we have no unified way to account for people and we sure as **** cant effectively audit between the countless different systems and countless different procedures operating within each county, within each state. If some rural polling place operating out of a Dairy Queen on the highway between Bumfuck and Nowhere cant instantly audit that the person registering to vote there on that day actually lives in that area and hasn't voted somewhere else then, sorry friend, no automatic same day register to vote.

Making people prove their qualifications to vote is not a "unnecessary barrier", its a critical part of election integrity.

Then we should be pushing for national systems instead of creating excuses to limit voting.

Same day registration shouldn’t be a think because it should be automatic registration.

A national system works for me. A single, standardized identification structure, bio-metrically authenticated, verified against vital documents, constantly auditing itself upon access and entry, placed under the purview of the military to ensure security, fully accessible by courts and law enforcement to facilitate justice and employers and service providers to verify citizenship. A national ID program is the silver bullet solution to dozens of problems from voting to taxation to probate to illegal immigration. We have the technology, we can have this built and pushed live before the decade is out.
