Zelensky is calling for the summit of nations that signed Budapest memorandum where the countries would need to provide Ukraine safety assurances, otherwise it will consider the document null and void and will start building nukes again.
I think Ukraine should re-arm itself with nukes - having a terrorist like Russia for the neighbor kind of makes it a requirement.
I’m wondering how western countries would react to Ukraine going nuclear again.

Ukraine may have a day, possibly two left before the Russians take it over. I don't think anyone is worried about them building nukes in that time.

I honestly don’t think Russia will be able to take Ukraine without going into total war, which will cause massive discontent among Russians due to the use of conscripts in combat.
Ukrainians stand their ground and shoot back. They shoot back every time Russians shoot at them - this was confirmed by their minister of defense himself today. There are artillery battles in progress as we speak.

No kidding. For the last 3-4 days the Ukrainian military has been bombing the crap out of residential areas and civilian infrastructure in the Donbass. I'm glad they finally quit lying about it.

If Russia actually went further than the Donbass, I see little resistance in the South-East 1/3 to 1/2 of the country. A lot would welcome it.

That's what I'd do. Stay in the rural areas, cut off the Dnieper and Odessa port. 'Ukraine' would collapse....they aren't that far off from collapsing now. I wonder will the Nazis send US taxpayers Christmas Cards for all the cash we've sent?

Russians are known to shoot from residential areas, knowing full well that Ukrainian artillery will respond to suppress fire on the territory their control. Here is a good example:

    This is a war crime.

Your estimates are wrong. You saw the result of prior election. Every 18 year old in Ukraine has seen Russia as an aggressor for as long as they can remember themselves.

There are no Nazis in Ukraine. No gestapo, no death camps, no laws promoting ethnic purely. You just post lies.

'Ukraine'... You are a Russian, right? Because you have obviously fully adopted the Kremlin position that Ukraine has no sovereignty and is Russia's property.

Mafialand does have designs on Alaska. They'll make a play for it if ever the US is sufficiently destabilized. Guaran-damn-teed.

Yeah… the west will hopefully not support nuclear proliferation. Because those nukes will definitely be used on the west one day. Also, Ukraine has more pressing security concerns.

That's why I say if the US is sufficiently destabilized. They would try to get the Alaskans themselves to favor leaving the US and willingly being annexed by Russia, which one could imagine if ever things got really bad economically. Then Putin or his hypothetical successor could come in as a pretend savior and protector once again.

Wrong, born and raised in Texas. What I am is - not a dumbass. I've been to Ukraine many times. I've been to Russia many times. I've been to Crimea.

When I first started venturing out to that part of the world, I was stupid like most Americans and blindly sided with Ukraine concerning all the crap since 2014 (because I believed the US propaganda). But then I became more and more educated.

Fact is that Ukraine is a corrupt shithole that only has itself to blame. If not for the 2014 Obama/Nuland Coup, none of this mess would have happened. None. Or if Ukraine would have just done what they agreed to do concerning the Minsk Protocols, none of what happened today would have happened.

All this is Ukraine's fault. They are a greedy, corrupt country that plays whoever they can so as to get financial aid that is then funneled to a select few oligarch's pockets. For example, US taxpayers have sent over a billion dollars to Ukraine to rebuild infrastructure in the Donbass. Instead, Ukraine bombs that infrastructure. Not one cent has been spent there since 2014.

So if any of you want to blindly support one side or the other, be my guest.

As Ronald Reagan once said "Trust, but verify". This is my advice especially since our MSM is total garbage. And our government is a propaganda machine.

There are plenty of good people in Ukraine and Russia, but the minority radicals are in control of Ukraine now concerning policy and politics.

There were plenty of good Germans too I suppose. But history shows us what could happen when minority radicals take control of straight democracies.

    That's purely a hypothetical fantasy.....it'll never happen.

Well, considering the state of politics in this country, I'm not discounting any possibility. When Republicans rate that bloody dictator higher than the sitting US president, we're already living in a topsy-turvy crazy kind of world.

Your visits have clearly taught you nothing.

Reagan wouldn't be on your side. He sure wouldn't be ranting about "MSM" the way you're doing.

Polls showed that 90% of Ukrainians want to be a part of Europe. The rest support Russia,
mostly for ethnic reasons. That is changing now that Russia is bullying Ukraine - people are
feeling quite nationalistic now. Besides, YOU wouldn't want to live in Russia, and 50% of all
young Russians would rather live in the West, and 25% of the older generations would move
    to Europe if they could.

Funny thing...on this forum....why is it that many of these posters on here are from Texas or Florida....or just a convenient location for trolls to use when they're in here spewing their diatribe.

I'd probably get in trouble for "flamebaiting" if I shared my honest opinion about that.

    I would support it.

No chance that Ukraine would use nukes against the west.

They'll fire their nukes at Moscow and Leningrad.

No. When Russia aggressively invades innocent countries, that is Russia's fault.

Why do you care if Russia gets fried for sticking its nose where it does not belong?
