200K troops sounds like a lot, but its not. Far more would be needed to occupy and control a country the size of Ukraine.
I am just reiterating what George Kennan wrote in the New York Times in 1997: Everything he predicted happened and it was obvious that it would happen. Having common sense, intelligence, vision and wisdom is not being a cuck. Recognizing that placing a hostile organization on Russia's borders would be considered as a threat to the Russian government is not being a cuck. Being able to reason and to understand your enemy's motivations is not being cuck. For the record, George Kennan is responsible for the Truman Doctrine which won the Cold War. He had an intellect far above the brain dead automatons currently inhabiting the White House. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_F._Kennan NATO Expansion Would Be an Epic 'Fateful Error' - Los Angeles Times (latimes.com) All your talk of not being a cuck has handed Ukraine to the Russia and permanently ended any thoughts of them ever being in NATO. Putin used hard power to get what he wanted while doing massive damage to American prestige in the eyes of the world. Go read A Fateful Error in the New York Times as written by George Kennan in 1997 and get back to me. Convince me that the hacks that currently run our country are within a country mile of George.
The ultimate goal for the russian I think is to try to capture Zelinsky and replace him with a russian sympatizer. I don't think they'll succeed and we may see a yugoslavia 2.0
How bout patriotic American unite to protect our own border before we worry about someone else's border.
And with more guns comes more ammo. The cold hard truth of the matter is that the only thing that is going to influence Putin's thinking are body bags carrying Russian soldiers back to their families. Thanks for your insight.
There was another option... Russia could abandon their dream of being a superpower and instead become a Germany or Japan 2.0 and join the west in open trade. Would've been hard on their ego but they'd have better life prospect.
That seems to be their 1st priority, but they have to deal with the military as well. The country has to be in full control before a new leadership can be installed.
So please tell me things nato has done that would make someone concerned to border a nato state. Does nato often start conflicts where none exist? Do they invade and occupy their neighbors? Putin doesn’t want nato next door because he wants to take over Eastern Europe. Not because Nato is dangerous to its neighbors.
You're in bad need of a basic primer on what's been going on in Ukraine since 2014. But, hey, if you want to side with neo-Nazis that have their own battalion within Ukraine's military, knock yourself out.

That't not isolationism as we have a massive gap in our own border security. Isolationism would be us parking our carrier fleets in US ports.
Some good news. A few platoons of Russian soldiers have laid down their arms. A massive protest in St. Petersburg from cooler headed Russians.
