I agree that Ukraine and the Ukrainian people will be the biggest losers in this war regardless. I don't see Putin backing off as that would be a bigger blow than even the quagmire that he has likely fallen into.

From where I sit, for Russia to actually accomplish anything lasting or worthwhile, however, requires fundamental changes in Russian foreign policy and its outlook. The kind of changes that very few of the pro Russian posters in this forum, many (not all) of whom I recall being very pro Israel and anti Iran would support. But what Iran has that Russia doesn't really have, is the ability (if it is made untouchable and not subject to nuclear blackmail) to choke what is still the lifeblood of the western economies. While the geopolitical significance of the Persian Gulf has diminished during the past decade, it is still a critical passage route for western energy supplies but equally importantly for the infrastructure that props up, through petrodollars, the essence of America's leverage over the Ponzi scheme global financial markets with the US$ the currency of international trade.

An alliance that gives Russia that much influence over the well being of the western economies, is also an alliance that gives Russia that much more leverage. And that is leaving aside the fact that very same actors who have been fueling the fires of anti- Iran paranoia in the West, namely the Israelis, will be the first to work feverishly to extinguish those fires if they themselves more threatened by it too.

Other than Russia seeking the alliance what I'm alluding to, I am sure very little good and a whole lot of bad is in store for Russia from this adventure. But, yes, regardless, Ukraine is going to be an even bigger loser for allowing itself to become a tool at the mercy of the whims of those who (despite all their supposed humanitarian protestations) ultimately see the Ukraine just as an expendable tool or proxy force.

The madman is Zilensky who refused to accept a Federated Ukraine with rights and freedoms for all Ukrainians, but preferred to kill his own people to please his handlers.

It will be the end of the Ukrainian state, except for a small land locked area.

So, you are calling for Iranian-Russian alliance? I hope you do realize that if the U.S. must multitask for war efforts in different regions, then the outcome will be very quick and brutal for the people of Iran, as complete destruction of Iran from air is quicker and cheaper than sending in the ground troops and going through the invasion BS.

Some member here said that a person who was brainwashed by russian propaganda might be irreversible. Your delusional post definitely demonstrate in favor of that possibility.

And what Russia doesn't need presently is an ally with a worst military record than what they've. The Iranian military is a joke.

I'd like to see your reaction to such demands and military actions being applied to Russia by NATO.

Or rather, if the US unilaterally declared what Belarus is allowed to do as a sovereign country while declaring that it has no right to exist as such, and proceeded to invade Belarus to destroy its military, government and cities while threatening Russia and everyone else with nukes, telling them they better not get involved.

If only it was anything like you imagine, your hero Trump would have gone through with his threats. But its okay: you imagine as you wish. What I know is different. The US/Israel hold 2 cards against Iran. They have an active fifth column within Iran which, with a good bit of $ spread around, has made significant inroads within Iran's major financial, energy, political, diplomatic and even military and security services. But ultimately Iran can handle this problem. Their other card is their nuclear arsenal. Russia needs to give Iran the cover required and Iran needs to make the decision it has been reluctant to make before out of presumably fear induced by nuclear blackmail.

TDS. Every president has been asking for this for a long time. Trump, like the others, failed to make a positive difference. At the same time, he had every other NATO partner doubting that the US would be there for them in the event of an attack on another NATO member.

Also, John Bolton recently said that Putin was waiting for Trump to pull the US out of NATO in his second term..

This would be quite an alliance - while Russians are killing “neo-Nazis” in Ukraine, Iran is nuking Jews in Israel.

I don't think the world will give Iran its blessing after what just happened. I think Iran should really think hard about her future...

Iran wouldn't be nuking anyone. That is very clear except to the clueless in America et al.

To prevent that, all you had to do was agree not to make Ukraine or Belarus part of NATO.

The mere existence of NATO is aggression.

Again, it is not for us or NATO to decide who may or may not join it.

Additionally, Ukraine was nowhere near to joining NATO.

So why do you keep repeating these Putinist lies?

What rubbish. Putin hates NATO because it prevents him from invading more former Soviet states and recreating the Russian Empire in his image.

The current Russian incursion is ample proof that NATO still has a defensive role to play in Europe.

If Nato didn't exist there wouldn't have been a war to break up and destroy Yugoslavia, an invasion to break up and destroy Iraq, the destruction of Libya, and the invasion and support of terrorists to destroy Syria.

Now they're trying to destroy Russia by provoking it to fight Ukraine. Well the neo con dream is going to backfire big time. We're lucky if we don't fall apart - which will become more likely as our economy falters. Let's see if the dollar survives.
