No.. you don't "got it" .. You don't understand the Trinity.. it is the same being.. perhaps I can give you a very poor analogy.. What you post here is you.. right? And when you talk on the phone,, that is also you.. correct? And then you, in person, is undoubtedly you.. without a doubt; ergo those are all faucet of your same being. God the Creator owes you nothing.. you are but a figment of His imagination (if you think real hard about it), and the choice to be "cursed" is totally yours. You have freewill.
I can see that, and I wasn't particularly gracefully in the way I put it. But, in the view of the OT faith and it's followers, priests, et al., Jesus did work to make a HUGE change - ending sacrifice, changing the role of priests, changing the rules for how one gets to heaven, etc., etc. Not even the Protestant revolution was that huge. And, that caused wars. In that day and age, I don't see it as at all surprising that the crucified him.
We certainly have the "freedom" to look at life as if cursed. There are any number of ways to "look at life", veltanshaungen, interpretations. There is even no interpretation; simple looking at what is happening as simply the moment being. There is the pure acceptance of now coming into being as if created in each instant, a sort of continuing big bang. That would be indistinguishable from the ongoing creation of a 'supreme being'. In any case, no concept of 'God' can get past the existential problem; if 'God' exists, by definition all and everything is 'God'. By definition, humans only perceive by contrast, implicitly binary labels of "this and not that", the way we tell that one thing is not everything. Thus, the existence of 'God' would be essentially invisible to humans. So, If 'God' exists, 'God' cannot be seen and, of course, if 'God' does not exist, 'God' cannot be seen.
Read the chapter in Dostoevsky's The Brothers Karamazov concerning the Grand Inquisitor to see how it's likely to turn out. http://web.pdx.edu/~tothm/religion/Summary of The Grand Inquisitor.pdf A summary of The Grand Inquisitor
It's a tale told by one of the brothers, a critic of the church, about Christ returning to earth, loved by the people and hated by the Catholic leaders who imprison him and kill him. The Grand Inquisitor condemns Christ for giving man free will rather than using his power to feed the people.
Right. So to whom did the god Jesus paid ransom then? To Himself? Took the money from one pocket and put it in his another pocket. All smoke and mirrors for fooling the masses of ignorant people (created by the same God, mind you). Now I got it.
I can think of a sound mind, I think. The story doesn't 'fit'. And to all that think God didn't curse mankind, what's this? It's plain & simple, right in your face if you have the eyes to read it.
at least 4 people said they think a god made everything in the universe and then got pissed off at everything and went nanners. sounds like a 9 year old.
Your will is not God's will. You are temporary and weak, God is creator of the universe, powerful and eternal.
Is it possible that God could have created this universe by initiating the "singularity" that was followed by the "big bang" expansion that physicists have detected?
There is no will other than my own, your god is only as big as your imagination. Your god is jealous, petty, intemperate, whiney, poorly educated, has awful impulse control, is spiteful, hypocritical and prefers obfuscation to clarity. Also, he didn't get permission to knock up a married teenager and shows favorites. Are you sure you wouldn't like another choice, this one seems to be chosen either with haste or too much to drink.
Well, your choice and the choice of others is a little odd when you apply any kind of critical thinking. It doesn't really look like anything but a projection of human attributes just like every other deity out there. I have to presume you know this, and either don't care or refuse to accept new information. Doesn't matter, the facts are right there regarding that particular guys' massive ineptitude and childish behavior.
LOL, there's nothing like pretending your guy isn't a complete lunatic so you can feel like you'll cheat death. I have a feeling many people would still pray to that guy even if his behavior was even worse. I do limit myself to reality, but you guys can keep the supernatural shenanigans.
Your reality is only a small part of the universe, just a cat litterbox for "scientists." Good luck with that.
If God allowed his prophet Jesus to be horribly executed, then he really hates us all. Obviously, humankind is a failed experiment. Satan has won!
