White House press secretary Jen Psaki said during a press briefing that the people arriving in D.C. have all been processed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, "so it's nice the state of Texas is helping them get to their final destination as they await the outcome of their immigration proceedings.”
    https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/im...uses-sent-gop-texas-gov-greg-abbott-rcna24229

Gov. Abbott's latest rant includes bussing any immigrant who WANTS a free ride (with amenities included) courtesy of Texas taxpayers.

A move that he probably assumes is going to earn him votes from the xenophobic right, but is actually helping immigrants get to where they want to be. Because, as Abbott's own office confirmed, they can't be FORCED. It has to be voluntary. And who volunteers? Well... anyone who has family in the North East. Or all those who want to get as far as possible from the border. Like, for example, people who came here because they are being chased by drug cartels or gangs.

So Washington is happy, immigrants are happy, xenophobic taxpayers in Texas are happy....

Sorry for the rational people in Texas who are the only ones who realize that they are having to pay for the theatrics of a stupid governor. And that their state will be loosing human resources that, at this point when the supply chain is suffering because of the lack of workers, Texas will be the state missing out.

Not sure if Abbott is going to reap the intended consequences, because now migrants may purposely go to TX just to get a ride to DC.

Yeah! Why enter through any other state? If you come through Texas you get both the American Dream and a free bus ride. Two for the price of one Coyote.

A ride from El Paso to DC takes 29 hours... so you'll get free meals and probably at least one free hotel stay. Quite the vacation for people, some of whom might not have ever even seen the inside of a hotel.

All courtesy of your friendly neighborhood Texas taxpayer.

If that's what they want to do. But I understand Taco Bell and Burger King are also desperately looking for workers.

In addition, those people that he buses can even more easily enter TX. I understand his argument, not sure he will complete his intended goal.

"Xenophobic" is a term fed to people to rebleat for the purpose of misleading the gullible. No reasonable person would refer to someone opposed to strengthening cartels with a steady flow of income, human trafficking, forced servitude, and sexual assault as a "xenophobe".

Using such terms for the purpose of demonizing those with opposing beliefs only reveals ones inability to challenge a position on merit.

If the cartels are chasing them, it is to collect the debt they owe.

They’re going to get a free plane or bus ride anyway. They don’t care who pays for it.

I am so f-ing sick of this bullshit. You don't have to be xenophobic to want illegal aliens kicked out of the country, you don't have to be racist to point out that BLM is playing fast and loose with donor funds (just where exactly is the rest of that $90,000,000 they raised??), and it doesn't make you transphobic to object to a biological (and physical) male competing with ACTUAL women in a swimming contest. When it comes to immigration, we should only allow those who result in a net benefit to the USA, and reject/expel anyone who doesn't. When it comes to BLM (and similar orgs) anyone who didn't see it as a grift from the word go has worse vision than Stevie Wonder, and, well, the swimming thing is common sense.

You guys routinely throw out these baseless and offensive claims because you know it will anger the hardcore "woke" left, and shame those saying such things.

    Well, I'm not ashamed.

Illegals should be deported as soon as we catch them. Period. BLM didn't and doesn't give the first fu*k about black lives, and that was inherently obvious as soon as they became a "thing". And men should be competing against other men. FFS, they had to photoshop his photo (without permission from the person who took it) to feminize him when running news stories. If you decide to publish an altered photo of someone to fit a narrative, that's no longer news. When he gets his winkie cut off, and has testosterone levels somewhere in the same range as those he's competing against, then come back and see me.

And stop lying and making baseless, false accusations as if they were indisputable facts.

You shouldn't worry about "terms". Worry about retracting the false accusation that you made.

Do you feel better now that you got all of that off your chest? I hope so because it had nothing to do with the subject.

So it's okay for the federal government to fly and bust them around the country but not for a state Governor....

Sorry but... yes you do. Asylum is a universal human right. Not all people deserve to be granted asylum, but all people have a right to request it. And they have the right to go through the process to determine whether or not they qualify as refugees. And if you deny people (or argue for denying people) their right, and your excuse is that they are foreigners, that's the very definition of "xenophobia".

    Think again...

I would take you on on your BLM B.S. too, but that would be waaay off-topic.

And it's naive to think that anywhere even close to maybe 10% of all illegal aliens either deserve or have a genuine asylum claim.

How many people do you think that the United States can simply absorb from around the world?

Who do you think Grant this "universal human right" ?

That makes about as much sense as claiming you're a sovereign citizen

You have already admitted to what I revealed about your position. I realize you don't like my wording, but I used the quote feature and you have already doubled down.

Using terms like "xenophobe" for the purpose of demonizing those with opposing beliefs only reveals ones inability to challenge a position on merit.

Illegal immigrants are placing their children at risk dragging them through the desert and dealing with cartels. Why do they get a pass while parents that refuse to force their children to consume Trumps kool aid get prison?

It's ok for ANYBODY to provide for the well being of refugees. What is ridiculous is that right-wing xenophobes actually believe they are "punishing" them, or "punishing" Biden. It's just hilarious.

Then courts should order the deportation of the other 90%. COURTS, not right-wing xenophobes, should make that determination. In the mean time, they ALL have the constitutional right to be presumed innocent by the legal system.

If you don't like anything in the constitution that is not in the 2nd Amendment, you should bring it up with the framers. Don't take it on poor people who are only exercising their RIGHTS.

Believers say it's "God". I would leave it at them being natural rights. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are similar natural rights.
