The Killing of Patrick Lyoya Have you heard of it? Here is some Info: https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/...rick-lyoya-killing-black-migrants/7318904001/
Dude, the link provides a whole lot of propaganda and very few facts about the incident. I withhold judgement until there are more facts on the case. Can you provide a link with more factual information?
Completely his own fault and the officer was correct in his actions, I can't see how anyone would ever think otherwise?
There was a thread somewhere around here about this a couple two or three days ago. If he was fighting with the police and reaching for a weapon then he was wrong. Could you possibly include more of the circumstances? I did not see video but it seems I recall that he was fighting so I'll withhold judgment but I will say this.... In about 90% of these cases the people involved are trying to assault or otherwise harm the officer with or without weapons, if you put your hands on a cop you can expect to get hurt. You do not have a right to fight with the police
I think people are finally starting to learn that theres usually a lot more to these stories than the media presents, especially when they're recent. People are probably waiting for the other shoe to drop before passing judgement. As am I.
He was completely uncooperative the whole time. There may have been some language barrier too. The officer attempted to detain him and put him in handcuffs, which is very common in this situation (whether you agree with this or not). Then of course he resisted. The immigrant was acting like some person from another country who had no idea of how these police traffic stops worked. I think it's fair to say this would have never happened with a white person. (Not claiming racism, just that a white person would have never reacted that way) If you expect police to "enforce the law", they're going to have to do things like this. The situation escalated. The officer was trying to exert his authority to enforce the law. The immigrant who was stopped acted like it was a random person who was accosting him and violating his rights. (Which it was, unless you believe police should have the right to do this to enforce the law) I can see both sides to this story. I think it demonstrates there are a lot of unsaid expected protocols and rules that are involved when a traffic officer pulls a car over. I think this situation illustrates how the law is fascism, but also illustrates how people have an obligation not to be immature and need to follow certain protocols to avoid situations like this going bad. This isn't just the simple black & white thing people want it to be. Enforcing laws, even basic laws, does inherently violate fundamental laws. Many on the Left simply will not want to see that.
Yes, unless you believe the law should not be enforced. That's an unpleasant dilemma many people do not want to see. Enforcing the traffic law ended up requiring this guy to be shot. That's my view on it. Things escalated when this guy was not being cooperative, started walking away, and then later fought back. Enforcing the law ultimately requires going after people with a gun, doesn't it?
I pray to God that I will NEVER EVER meet an US-American policeman! NEVER EVER! I have met British and Irish and French and Italian and even Vietnamese policemen in my time! And they were human and friendly and acted that way. Not like those cruel US-American police "men" who seem to be more like robots programmed to kill!
I just had a conversation with one at work earlier tonight. I sold him his usual cup of boiled peanuts and we sat there and made small talk for a couple of minutes. Would you believe he did not kill me? Oh my god did I have a near death experience?
Nothing like this has ever happened to me. Then again, I've never shown a complete and utter disregard for the law and law enforcement as did this man. Regretfully, this will continue as long as this civil society of laws is peppered with people who are raised to be uncivil, feral, callous, combative, self absorbed, lawless, and harboring a loathing animosity towards authority and the rights and dignity or their fellow man. How difficult is it, or how far from the realm of reason is it, to abide the law and law officers of any country in which one finds oneself? It is a no brainer. That officer went to the wall for that man, putting his own health and life in jeopardy. And only used deadly force as a last resort.
Sounds like someone has been sucked into the fake news media reporting. Once a year or so it seems there a police shooting that looks bad on video and it get reported and over reported. But never, ever do they shows the countless thousands or perhaps hundreds of thousands of totally harmless good police encounters. Best for people like you to just stay home and don’t even think of coming here.
I know this. Why would I resist the police who are armed (trained to be the one going home at the end of the shift and have qualified immunity) and can be judge, jury and executioner? I don't think a jury of this cop's peers are going to convict him.
No, but he sure did fight hard to get a weapon when he fought with the nice patrolman to take it away from the officer.
