How can you judge the real mood if the only legitimate tool that is used to obtain this information (elections) is rigged? Azov consists of mostly russian speaking Ukrainians and ethnic Russians and I do not see much enthusiasm from those guys about being a part of ruZZia. What makes you think Russian speaking Ukrainians and ethnic Russians in other areas of Donbas really want to be in the federation? Just because not all of them took up arms doesn’t mean they all unconditionally support such annexation.

According to the inhabitants when interviewed, much of the devastation was done by the retreating Ukrainian soldiers - I guess so Zalensky could blame Russia. As for large cities, other than Mariupol I don't know of any other being devastated. According to Gonzalo Lira, who the Ukrainians won't allow to leave Kharkov, the city still has electricity, running water and even internet.

I read that many of the civilians who had left Kiev are now returning. As for Russia, their massive attacks have always been on military installations, oil depots, etc. I know that in Aleppo the Russians couldn't understand why the American jets were bombing the electric companies and water purification plants, since the people had suffered enough.

Putin did say though that he's not going to have a repeat of Mariupol, and will simply lay siege to the cities until the Ukrainians surrender like they did in Azovstal - regardless of how many civilians are being held hostage. According to intercepted telephone calls, it was Zalensky who kept telling the Ukrainian army not to surrender.

What people were carted off to Russia? When the Russians freed Mariupol many of the people wanted to leave for Greece since they were ethnically Greek from way back, and many wanted to go to Russia because they're ethnically Russian. If they wanted to go to other parts of Ukraine I'm sure Russia would have allowed them - although I'm sure they didn't after the way they were treated by Kiev.

And yet Russia never bombed any civilian areas. I guess the people in the non Russian areas were frightened and assumed Russia would do to them what the Ukrainians were doing to Donetsk and Lugansk as well as what we did in Iraq and Syria by bombing infrastructure. The Russians didn't do it in Syria, so why would they do it to people who they consider brothers who were put under a fascist government by Obama and Nuland?

Russia is gaining everything, but not because of its own doing. This war is Biden's war, and the intent was to use Ukraine to weaken and break up Russia - but it's not working out the way Washington planned. Neither are the sanctions. Russia's economy is doing fine, while its killing the EU especially. Of course they're going to say Russia's to blame.

Now Washington is heading the world into a nuclear war. I remember Dr. Craig Roberts being furious with Russia when it was sanctioned, for not stopping all its gas to Nato countries. Craig Roberts was part of the Reagan administration, and said that there were talks going on in Washington about starting a war between Russia and Europe and that they were going to throw the world into a nuclear war.

A person would have to be incredibly stupid to think that the areas which are now being freed from Kiev, will vote to remain with Ukraine after what they went through in the past 8 years.

Russia will give them that which Ukraine never gave them, the right to their own self determination. Of course that would depend on the situation in Kiev, and whether the junta remains in power, or is kicked out of power. From what I read the government is moving to Lviv.
