UK inflation jumps to 40-year high of 9% as food and energy prices spiral

LONDON — U.K. inflation soared to a 40-year high of 9% in April as food and energy prices spiraled, official figures revealed Wednesday, escalating the country’s cost-of-living crisis.

Consumer prices rose by 2.5% month-on-month, fractionally below expectations for a 2.6% climb in a Reuters poll of economists, which had also projected a 9.1% annual increase.

The 9% rise in the consumer price index is the highest since records began in their current form in 1989, outstripping the 8.4% annual rise posted in March 1992 and well ahead of the 7% seen in March of this year. The U.K.’s Office for National Statistics also said its estimates suggest that inflation would have last been higher “sometime around 1982.”

U.S.-Taliban deal biggest factor in collapse of Afghan forces, watchdog says

Biden withdrew the troops from Afghanistan before evacuating the civilians. He left billions in military equipment behind. He abandoned an air base which would have given our troops a safe base for evacuation.

When Biden said he was going to stop the use of carbon fuels, the investors quit investing. They stopped drilling and they stopped work on refineries because they believed their investments would not pay off. Fuel becomes more scarce and prices go up. It not only drives up the prices in the US, it drives up the prices world wide. Since fuel is used in the transport and manufacture of nearly every product we have, the prices of all commodities go up. That is called inflation. It is inflation on a world wide scale and Biden bears a major part of the responsibility. There were other factors in the inflation, but fuel costs was a major contributor.

 

I think the voters in Russia, Ukraine and UK should have had enough of him by now. they should all vote against him when his whenever they see his name on their ballots. if I see his name on their ballots, I will stronger suggest it.
