As rifles go an AR-15 is not particularly powerful.

It's a 223 round, typically weighing 60 grains. There are 15 grain per gram.

A 223 is considered the minimum rifle suitable for deer hunting.

I do not know why you liberals think that that particular round is somehow endowed with magical bullet powers that no other gun possesses.

Red Flag laws were put in place only few years ago in Florida and they have been utilized 6000 times already. A teenager buying two AR15s, hundreds of rounds of ammo, multiple 30 round mags, a tactical vest in one go on his birthday could be a red flag.

 

Regardless, the AR is little more than a varmint gun. Especially compared to an 8mm Mauser, which is an actual weapon of war.
