Pretty soon, other developed countries will stop allowing American tourists to travel there without applying for a travel visa.
Then we really will know the US has turned into a Third World.

Canada started running criminal background checks on all US people entering their borders, something it never used to do before.
(That probably has to do with international immigration, since there are increasingly more criminals in the US than Canada)

By the way, this Amnesty International advisory is mostly just a political stunt, trying to drum up the notion the "the US is unsafe due to guns".
Though some very naive travelers from Europe do need to be a little bit careful which neighborhoods they wander into. They didn't realize areas exist in the US that are not safe to be walking around, since no such places like that existed where they are from.

I'm guessing they also have travel advisories on Mexico and Brazil?

That's a little silly. Statistically speaking, people have nothing to fear from gun violence in this country. Not that the ongoing mass shootings aren't a nasty situation that demands to be addressed, of course, but gun violence is not at a level that should cause undue concern to tourists or anyone else.

    It's obviously a political stunt.

I would avoid all Blue states as defined in the US. Especially Baltimore and Washington DC. You take your life in your own hands traveling there.

The leading cause of children's death is gunshot wounds. Would you visit somewhere like that if you didn't already live here?

Hmm. I would have to assume that includes firearm-related accidents, such as kids getting their idiotic parents' guns and shooting themselves or each other. Then there's all the stinking gang violence, of course, which I suspect contributes to that statistic.

Few if any gun violence that affects children would seem to be statistically significant or something for tourists to worry about.

Don't forget Trenton, New Jersey, right across from New York City.

I think you actually meant Newark N.J.

Trenton and Camden are across from Philadelphia Pennsylvania, but all four cities are dangerous liberal run, crime ridden shitzholes.

Rarely would I ever agree with your usual 99.9 percent tilted & skewed logic, but for this 00.1 percent statement that you got half-right above.

    Again, no link.

The definition of "child" is a bit fluid. Most sources I've read consider 19 years old adolescents to be children. We have to be careful when interpreting results of statistics on children, because there's a real possibility that many of the gun or violence-related deaths might be of young gang members. Not exactly the innocent helpless humans one has in mind when thinking about children.

Interesting, the Forbes link says the following:

Venezuela specifically advised travelers to avoid Detroit, Baltimore, and Oakland, California.

The Japanese consulate in Detroit told its local residents to 'be aware of the potential for gunfire incidents'.

Not surprising if they were located in Detroit.

    Yes, my mistake.

All the big cities between D.C. and N.Y.C. along the 95 highway are kind of seedy and dangerous.

Well I certainly would avoid the Dem controlled areas. Baltimore, Atlanta, LA, St Louis, New Orleans, Chicago,
Detroit, Memphis, Cleveland, Little Rock, Milwaukee, Stockton, Oakland and Nashville amoung others.
Stay away from these crap holes and you’ll be fine.

Well I didn’t think it necessary to list every single one. I figured people would get the idea from the 14 I listed.

It’s kind of the new thing here in the D. Shooting others while driving down the freeways. Happens most every night. Not sure what the point is and there may not be a point, it just may be the local thugs getting tired of Grand Theft Auto and other blood and guts video games so they head out to the streets for some real life action. Life gets boring when you don’t have a job cause you didn’t finish or start high school and you don’t know who yo daddy be and you ain’t got the jack for a rock or two to smoke.

And yet the places in the US where the crime is actually bad enough to worry about are the places where there are less guns and more laws and the places that are still safe to travel have more guns and less laws.

...I dont think the problem is what you think it is.
