AHAHAHA, thanks for the lesson in making up history. Most people over there would be pretty thankful but I guess we will have to wait until we save you guys again for some to learn any lesson at all!

COMPANIES.....companies are not the United States especially a mere three. You cited none from your article, if there is something in it copy and paste for everyone to see and me to specifically respond. But I will note that the United States sued andnfined companies that did. So you dancing on the head of a pin here. America, the country and the government never supported Germany

Non-sequiturs all you got. Which navy dessimated that which many considered the most powerful Navy at the time the Japanese....the much vaunted British Royal Navy or this untrained ill-mannered former colonist navy? Who protected realm of the Kingdom from the Japanese military from taking them over?

And who did we just honor and celebrate and memorialize yesterday but our brave young Americans who stormed the beaches of Normandy to save Europe and Great Britain from the wrath of Basically Germany?

But glad to know where you stand on it. I'm of Scottish and English heritage and had often thought about a visit. But seeing how even though my country had to not only fight for it's independence from an oppressive ruler, it then had to defend itself from British piracy and invasion, burning down the home of the President. But again the most powerful military in the world suffered one of the most embarrassing defeats in military history at the hands of a ragtag army made up of local militia, farmers, city dwellers, Indians, pirates, slaves and free blacks put together in a matter of three weeks under the leadership of General Andrew Jackson.
But in spite of all that we came to the rescue in two world wars. Made huge sacrifices not just in treasure but in lives.

But seeing the attitude towards my country I might receive I might have to reconsider at least the English part of a trip. Too bad I have an ancestor buried in West Minster.

What am I getting wrong and be specific. And I suggest you avoid getting snarky that could prove embarrassing.

Lol. Perhaps you could explain how anywhere a "country" can supply goods to another country! You should also learn what the 1939 Neutrality Act states, in particular "cash and carry" and the definition of "war material". Over 1000 merchant ships carrying American goods sailing from the US were sank in 1940. You clearly have no clue about this and are probably another American who thinks WW2 started in 1941.

Japan is 6000 miles away by land from GB and over 13000 miles by sea so perhaps you could explain how the US saved GB from Japanese aggression. All you were doing in the Far East of Asia was trying to build your own empire

It was pure luck you won Midway and Coral Sea, but I'm glad luck was on your side.

Oh hardly, it was our brilliant intelligence service and the brave admirals, officers, sailors and airmen. They all made the right decisions at the right time.

The neutrality acts began in 1935. The US direct involvement in WW2 began in 1941. And go study up on British holdings and presence in the far east and pacific. You would have lost Austrilia without the US just as you would have lost the British isles.

New Zealand and Australia should have "Remember the Battle of the Coral Sea" tattooed on their lucky butts.

Lol. You completely ignored the fact that over 1000 ships carrying US goods were sunk by the Germans in 1940!

U.S. companies were selling supplies to Germany's enemies. These supplies would be used in the war effort. Everyone knew this.
Eventually to attempt to avoid getting involved in a war, the U.S. passed a law prohibiting American ships from transporting goods to Europe, but British ships could still travel to America to pick up supplies. This way it would not be American ships that would be attacked. It was a very one-sided neutrality.

Yep as at Midway, out equipped and out gunned but the Japanese were turned back a strategic victory at Coral Sea and a strategic and tacitical at Midway. The IJN was never able to recuperate saving Australia and New Zealand and the east flank of the British efforts in SE Asia. Too bad the current attitudes expressed by some here about America would hate to go there and visit knowing I would be running into such an attitude simply because I'm an American after what America, including my father and grandfather, did for them.

Lol. You clearly have lost track of your claim! Here is a reminder for you. This is what you wrote
"The UNITED STATES did not sell to any foriegn government due to the 1930 neutaility act."

The 1939 neutrality Act does not refer to "US merchant ships". The act allowed foreign ships to collect goods from US ports and carry exported US goods. Your lack of basic US history is embarrassing. Over 1000 ships carrying US goods were sank by German U-boats in 1940

Lend Lease to Allies and we didn't lose 1000 ships in one year I gave you the official numbers.

The fact America saved the free people of Europe twice is really a burr under your saddle isn't it?

I gave you the bar chart from the same website that you used and it shows that over 1000 ships carrying US goods were sank in 1940. Land lease did not start until 1941!

I did not say that over 1000 US owned ships were sank! You clearly know nothing about the Neutrality Act 1939 or Land Lease Act 1941.

The graph shows that the firearm restriction, and the buy-back plans that followed had a massive impact in the amount of gun related violence in Australia. And so, their policies of gun restrictions work. Other modern western countries who already have strict gun control also show with their very low gun related violence that their policies work.

You're making it up that the US was influenced by this.

All there is, is showing that the US policies of weak gun restrictions show that there is a massive carnage going on.
And we can compare that to similar countries with strong gun restrictions policies that work. The US simply can copy them and be done with it.

How am I making it up? I’ve offered the same amount of evidence of causation as you have! There is clear correlation (for the US as well) but you have not shown causation. You are making that up.

It ISN'T a privilege just because it is regulated, not even if it is licensed. Rights are regulated all the time. It can be argued that the whole function of government is to regulate rights.

All being a right means is that it cannot be ARBITRARILY denied. You have to have a good REASON to deny a right, you don't need one to deny a privilege.

And in actual fact you usually DO need a reason to deny something in a Democracy, so they both work out to being the same.

Yes it would be a privilege if you had to have a license.

Maybe you should get a license to have free speech. You have spoken out against us having our civil rights, which is a good reason to deny your first amendment rights. /s

The above seems stupid doesn’t it? Yeah it does.
