Why did pro-lifers promote a federal law banning so-called "partial birth abortion?" The next step will be a federal law banning abortion. Then states like California will refuse to enforce federal laws the way they do with marijuana and illegal immigrants. You won't win.
I don't know because I don't promote laws. My guess is that reducing the number of abortions is better than doing nothing. I agree that it is illogical. Killing a fetus is either right or wrong regardless of timing. I doubt that federal laws concerning abortion will have any chance of getting past constitutionality. I won't win? I won't even compete.
It depends upon how often she has sex, her and her partners' fertility and birth control methods, her decision on abortion around a pregnancy—too many factors to generalize.

I suppose that when all the 'rage' dissipates, what we'll see is that, going forward, maybe American women will make greater use of birth-control pills and/or 'morning-after' pills. The point was that pro-lifers aren't limiting themselves to passing state laws banning abortion. They already have.

On the contrary, and as I have stated many times, one can both defend the right to life of a child and simultaneously hold the parents accountable for the responsibility of raising them. One does not preclude the other.
