I don't think you have engaged with anyone who has referred to the topic of this thread. Including me. This is not about the religion or country of origin of the people, which is what you appear to be focused on. It's about what is and what is not a solution to the gun epidemic that is costing the life of many people, including hundreds of children.

As I have proven, the mantra about "a good guy with a gun" has been proven inadequate. And this applies, not just to the videos on the OP, but to many instances of mass shootings.

Because the mantra applies to stopping shooters AFTER the people they target have been killed. As if that brought any of them back to life. We need to stop or even reduce, as other countries have, the number of dead by stopping the shooting BEFORE the targeted people are killed.

 

Therefore they were UNABLE to stop the shooter. Period!

It doesn't matter why. And, keep in mind that these good guys with guns were fully trained and their job is to stop the bad guy. They didn't! But some expect security guards who took a one week course, or even completely untrained teachers, to do the job these guys, for whatever reason, were unable to do.

And this happens again and again: people either "REFUSE" (like you say) or are unable to stop the shooter, because the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun before they kill the people they target is NOT a good guy with a gun, but not allowing them to have a gun in the first place.

Cops can be re-trained, and the errors these guys committed can be corrected. Not so for the regular Joe who just happened to stumble by a mass shooting. Or a teacher who is trained to educate, but not to kill people.

 

And he did it with his bare hands, not.

Exactly my point! And if trained cops can sit in their ass for 77 minutes (not 50), what would you expect of an untrained regular Joe? The cops' training can be modified. Anybody else with a gun, no matter how "good" they are will have no training and is therefore even LESS likely to do any better.

So if that doesn't work, that means that putting more guns out in the streets is not going to solve the problem. It's only going to make it easier for bad guys to have guns.

And according to you, it's black people they SHOULD be shooting at.

 

We could talk about cowardice, because it was (supposedly) these guys' job to stop the bad guy. And that's what they were trained to do. But fear is a very human reaction. Gun advocates would put the life of people in the hands of regular untrained citizens. They expect them to do better. And they stake the life of children on it.

Exactly! And if you can't train it out of people whose job depends on not being cowards, how idiotic would it be to expect if for a person whose job is NOT to not be a coward.

So you put more military-style weapons out on the street, and most of them will end up in either the hands of somebody who is NOT going to stop a mass shooting (be it out of cowardice, or for any other reason), or they end up in the hands of a mass shooter.

BTW, the main reason that a regular citizen is not going to stop a mass shooting is that, even if they use a gun against them, the shooter will have already killed people. Making it more difficult for that mass shooter to get their hands on a gun WILL reduce the number of instances, as well as the number of dead in those instances that cannot be stopped.
