Of course. Their propagandizing is tiresome.

I'd say you have a choice of answers to that question, depending on who is answering it. Since you seem interested in exploring the possibilities, I'll offer a few for consideration:

    1) When a huge swath of the American public stopped valuing individual freedom and responsibility, along with the system of limited government that the Founders based on individual freedom and responsibility
    2) When the language in our laws stopped meaning anything and we became a nation governed by the arbitrary fiat of the nomenklatura and apparatchiks in Washington instead of the rule of law
    3) When the government stopped performing the task it was instituted to execute, securing our inherent, unalienable rights
    4) When a vast, unelected federal bureaucracy in Washington became a power and law unto itself
    5) When we started overextending ourselves during the early 20th Century and took on the massive burdens in blood and treasure of being a global superpower
    6) When our national debt and unfunded liabilities reached the proportions that imperil our nation's future: https://www.usdebtclock.org

    etcetera

Of course, one could point to the individuals who have run or are currently running our government, but they didn't elect themselves to office and their presence in office is often a product or extension of the problems I listed above (and more).

However, in cases such as this, the answer is usually 7) All of the Above (and more). As has been the case in the great nations and empires that preceded our own (Rome being the most cited example), rarely is a single cause responsible for the loss of greatness in a people and their nation (and empire). However, I will submit that it usually boils down to the people themselves losing their own individual greatness. Great societies and nations are built by great individuals, and when individuals stop holding up their end of the bargain their nations and societies invariably follow suit.

Well... guess what. I just did. And you just quoted it. AND, most notable of all, you didn't dispute anything in it.... You did try to change the subject, though. I don't think changing the subject works as rebuttal, though. It actually reinforces the point I made.

Too late now, I'm sorry to say. At this point my case is already made, you helped me make it, and my task is done.

    Thanks for playing...

And so is yours, and that would explain why the vast majority of Americans tuned out Biden's demagoguery on Thursday.

And while I, too, disagree with the Dodd decision and have been outspoken about it here, there are a host of "progressive" policies that the public has turned against in recent years, not to mention the serial incompetence of the Biden Administration. The inconvenient reality for Democrats and the Left is that they have been the majority party for these past couple of years, just as they were here in Virginia prior to the 2021 elections, and it was the public's dissatisfaction with the direction the majority party was taking the Commonwealth that resulted in a defeat the likes of which we have not seen in at least 12 years. The same thing is likely to repeat itself on the national level, just as it did in 2010 when Democrats took a historic shellacking in those midterms.

And that's on the invisible notes of your post?

I've not seen you make a point yet that you didn't have to run through your kaleidoscope to arrive at. About anything.

"One man's 'villain' is another man's 'hero'...." And, "one man's 'traitor' is another man's 'patriot'...."

    SEE HOW THAT WORKS?

And our enemies throughout the world are laughing their asses off as we Americans destroy each other!

What political officials? He isn't targeting anyone. He's calling out a specific ideology as detrimental to our nation and our democratic processes. He's talking about non-MAGA Republicans as not being part of the problem, and expressing his disgust with the calls to violence coming from Trump's supporters, and those white Christian nationalist groups that are boldly using Trump's hate-filled diatribes as tacit approval for their violent actions.

As for the 2022 elections, I stated somewhere on this forum a couple of months ago that by overturning Roe v Wade, the SCOTUS may have handed the midterms to the Democrats. When Kansas voted against restrictions, the first domino fell. Women are registering and voting in record numbers, and we are seriously pissed off at a minority of legislators with an agenda to control us, who think the government should control our bodies.

As for sighs of relief, nothing will ever top the one I let out when Trump lost in 2020.

The proverbial dog caught the car and doesn't know what to do with it.

Need it be said that 2022 isn't 1972? Women are going to cause continuing, serious trouble until their rights are respected.

Curiously enough, we started our steep decline into dysfunction, horrific national debt, poorly-run economy, and increasing levels of peoples' dependence on government during Idiot "W" Bush's second-term in the presidency. And most of my detractors know full-well that I ain't (AIN'T) no fugging Democrat! 8)

Please provide proof that Trump Supporters define the word “great” as a return to the 1960’s era. TIA
The word great has many definitions. I rather doubt Trump Supporters think the word “great” means returning to that era. imho

Make America Great Again just like Build Back Better is a political slogan (a short saying or catchphrase), used by both candidates.
The catchphrases were put on hats, t-shirts, and etc. They were sold to supporters to fund their campaigns.

MAGA versus BBB. The MAGA is “great” in comparison to the BBB “better” because supporters used it as a Word.

Now, the BBB did become popular. On t-shirts & hats…. Here are just a few.

“Instead Of Build Back Better How About Just Put It Back The Way You Found It”
    “Better Get The Builder Back”
“B.I.D.E.N. Biggest Idiot Democrats Ever Nominated”
    “ 46 Botch Blame Blunder”

    https://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/better
    Better ~ adjective
(comparative of `good') superior to another (of the same class or set or kind) in excellence or quality or desirability or suitability; more highly skilled than another.

Have you totally lost it or been living on the moon? It is Democrats and the left that are hell bent for leather to silence Trumpers and conservatives, not let them publish, keep them off radio and TV, hell, even keep them from working -- all for what they say.

So part of that change includes making a blanket assumption that all conservatives are Christian and using their religion to criticize them?

He may have, but most Americans weren't happy with Trump.
