I live on the NW side of PR and we lost power just hours before the storm hit which is what happened when Maria hit the island. The BVI smartly shuts off their power before a storm hits because not to do so creates an unnecessary danger to the public. Facilites needing power like hospitals should have their own generators.

Yes supplies were found in warehouses but the problem would still have existed due to a lack of diesel fuel needed to truck those supplies across the island. And since the ports were all closed we could not get the fuel to the island.

Not relevant to the specific assertions of the OP, and, that's the context that you nor any Trumper is addressing.

The person who was governor of Puerto Rico in 2017 when Hurricane Maria hit the island was Ricardo Rossello, the New Progressive Party, which aligned itself to the GOP in the 2017 US Presidential Elections. It's a party that advocates statehood for Puerto Rico. As for Puerto Ricans, can you blame them with Trump withholding aid to Puerto Rico for political purposes? Remember, Trump thinks Puerto Ricans are not US Citizens at all.

The next governor, Wanda Vasquez Garced was under her watch that, after an earthquake, it was discovered unused Hurricane Relief supplies in a warehouse in Ponce, on the southern side of the Island. Ironic after making statements that she wanted to review all contracts were being followed and no corruption was taking place.

What do you mean "can I blame them with Trump withholding aid to Puerto Rico for political purposes" ? That makes no sense.

The only aid at all that was withheld was by the Puerto Rican government so they could go on to blame Trump for political purposes.

Right about now some fresh drinking water would probably do fine.

    "DEMOCRATIC DITTO-HEADS"

    Hurricane?!?!

All I saw on "the News" yesterday was more of the same tiresome: "Orange Man Bad".

As I was going outside to watch the birds, my Democrat house-mates had CNN cranked up to the max while they were spellbound by one talking head after the other raving about Trump's tax fraud and only Trump's tax fraud.

One talking head after another talked about nothing but what the previous talking head said about the only news of the day: Trump's tax fraud.

I don't even like Trump but the degree to which "the News" is obsessed with the tax issues of a former president only made me comment that these chronically outraged talking heads are no different than the former Rush Limbaugh's army of unthinking "Ditto-Heads".

Fortunately, my Democrat house mates even agreed that the relentless Trump bashing was excessive while there is so much else going on in the world.

I'm an Independent and have no use for either Trump or the current administrations but I wonder how many hard core Democrats really see the degree to which they are very little different than Rush's unthinking Ditto-Heads when they parrot our present gaggle of chronically outraged and obsessed Trump hating Talking Heads.

Okay. But, I am mainly pointing out the hypocrisy on how they attacked Trump and how they don't attack Biden.

    Are you kidding?
I hear the Puerto Rico hurricane story on the news(radio) on both to and from work.
The damage is still being assessed for crying out loud.

Of course, their still in assessment mode and cleanup hasn't had a chance to start.
I hear about this hurricane 2X a day on the radio. On way to and from work.

This thread is weird. Or maybe it's just a reason to complain?

They're trying to make us believe that Biden COULD be just as lousy a President as Trump. But by failing so miserably to do that, they don't realize that they are actually elevating Biden by allowing us to point out an improvement that we might not even have noticed, if they hadn't tried to compare him to their "Leader"

Oh, sorry. Maybe you could post those links which blame Biden for his response. I must have missed them, even as the place is in shambles. So, don't go telling me that he did this or that when the place is a disaster.

    Response to what?
The damage assessment is still on going. They could only get assessing today.
What are you expecting at this point?
    Besides a place to complain?

They were already attacking Trump by now. They didn't wait for assessments then.

Congress passed a $90 billion relief package for Puerto Rico. Trump withheld half of it for political reasons, trying to get Puerto Rico to "his side" and "praise him" for helping them.

LOL. You guys have attacked Trump nonstop for six years now over stuff you thought he would do, stuff you thought he wanted to do, stuff you thought he might do, etc. You were already attacking Trump during the last hurricane before even evaluating the damage.

And you have attacked Democrats for how long? All 8 years of Clinton. All 8 years of Obama. All the years of the Biden Administration. And you get your cajones in a jam because Trump got the same treatment?
