That's what is so wonderful about the first amendment. Though online forums like this one should and do have set rules for civil decorum, the best form of true free speech is when people disagree. We've gotten to the point in our society IMHO, where some are only interested in ending the discussion, instead of coming to see that even though we might strongly disagree, we still defend each other's right to say it. If I only wanted to hear the political point of view of those who only think just like me, I'd hang up posting on political forums. How boring would that be anyway? Sometimes a forum will have a higher slant to the left or right, but in the end it's up to the poster to find their own comfort zone. rather than demand others change for them.

Maybe they are being ripped off. Maybe because the owners and boards are more interested in keeping you happy by filling your pockets than keeping workers happy by filling their pockets!

I don’t care if you are interested in truth or reality. I’m not here to change your mind. This exchange is to expose hypocrisy of those taking profits from workers and then complaining about the poor circumstances of the worker.

I have no beef with capitalism. I do find it odd to hear capitalists complain about the consequences of capitalism and then reject the solution to those perceived negative consequences.


Something interesting to think about. The claim you make is essentially real wages have not increased. So in theory, adjusted for inflation, purchasing power has remained steady or decreased.

But over the same time period, house size has tripled, the number of televisions per household has doubled, food portions have substantially increased, more meals are eaten outside the home, recreational spending has increased ten-fold, single landline phones have been replaced by most household members having cell phones, laptops, and PC’s, and more clothing is owned than before your reported divergence of compensation and productivity. The amount of goods and services consumed has increased dramatically, dwarfing any effect of consumer debt increases on consumption.

If real wages have been static or falling but consumption has skyrocketed, why would workers be upset? It seems your whole premise is a house of cards.
