Data does not lie. Republicans deliver and believe more BS (fake lies) than the Democrats!
This is an article that proves that our Democracy is suffering from the lies, conspiracy theories and misinformation that comes from and is delivered by the right.

Interesting piece. I've been curious for a long time about why it is that conservatives seem to have a greater propensity for believing falsehoods. One idea I've had is that RWM media provides such a rich environment of them. Exacerbated by conservatives lending undeserved credibility to their favored sources. The following paragraph appears to support that theory.

Given the ambiguity surrounding the (a)symmetry of ideological bias, we focus on another potential explanation for the pattern observed. Perhaps conservatives’ propensity to hold misperceptions is a by-product of the political information environment. We propose a pair of explanations for observed differences in liberals’ and conservatives’ misperceptions that are related to this idea. First, we consider the supply of political (mis)information. It could be that truths and falsehoods circulating most widely in the political information environment differ systematically in their implications for conservatives and liberals. If high-profile political falsehoods disproportionately promote conservatives’ interests, truths promote liberals’ interests, or both, belief accuracy on the left and right would diverge regardless of whether conservatives are more biased than liberals.

But what good is the research knowing conservatives will reject it since the goal is to get them to stop this behavior? I have said dozens of times on this board that the health of the country depends on an informed, engaged electorate. Something that needs modification seeing as we need to distinguish between being uninformed and misinformed.

Why do you let Conservatives vote?

I Understand that Conservatives don't even believe that men have babies!

Or that crime is reduced when we defund the police!

What this country needs is a ministry of truth.

Are you suggesting Dems pass voter suppression laws to make it more difficult for conservatives to vote as Repubs have for certain demographic groups?

When you wrote that, did you think it in some way diminished the credibility of the study showing conservatives are more prone to believe misinformation?

Not just a Republican thing, it's rooted in far right fascism worldwide. Now, a vast majority today's remaining Republican Party is definitely way far to the right.

Just wondered if anyone picked up on who made the determination of what is considered misinformation in the study.

The article is a lie, MPO of course! Democrats are far more susceptible to bullshit because their logic is controlled by drama, fear, and peer pressure.. They "Follow" along to please the only group that will have and tolerate them :(

That falls under fear and peer pressure.. If you can let your child, be abused in public school, forced to wear a mask while you too bow to the disinformation, then you are certainly part of the HERD :)

That wasn't the only thing I picked up on.

    1. They say they asked 20 questions: 10 "true" and 10 "false". Where are the questions at?

    2. They did give some examples of the types of questions asked: "conservatives have been shown to hold less accurate beliefs about climate change, weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and where President Obama was born"

Ironically, the OP has proven the opposite of his seal clapping agreement with this nonsense study.
