I am not sure what it matters that you won't accept it.
The convicts will still be going to jail for the crimes they committed.

Who in this thread said they don't want any and all criminal acts investigated?
That would be very very few.
And you claim democrats, I seriously doubt the dem party doesn't want to investigate crimes.
Which crimes do you claim have not been investigated?

Technically, it doesn't matter. All it means, is that I'll call a spade, a spade and not what they want to narrate as a spade. Our government was not facing a takeover, or a conspiracy of a hostile takeover. They were facing a riot, that might have been very loosely organized in a group of hundreds by 5 people.

If that's what we're calling sediitous conspiracies, I'd like to see that as a universal application of that law moving forward.

A jury of peers listened to both sides and made their decision. That is the spade in the hole.

"As the Justice Department digs deeper into the conduct of former President Donald Trump and his inner circle, the conviction of two Oath Keepers leaders – as well as the conviction on another key charge brought against all five defendants – will be useful to building out a case around the plotting to overturn Trump’s loss that went beyond just the riot at the Capitol on January 6, 2021," CNN.

CNN continued, "A jury’s willingness to convict two leaders of a far-right militia of seditious conspiracy for plotting to forcibly oppose the government is a major vindication of how the Justice Department is approaching its investigation into the efforts to disrupt President Joe Biden’s 2020 win.

“As the verdict of this case makes clear, the department will work tirelessly to hold accountable those responsible for crimes related to the attack on our democracy on January 6, 2021,” Attorney General Merrick Garland said.

“We’re going to walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women. You have to show strength, and you have to be strong.”
“When you catch somebody in a fraud, you are allowed to go by very different rules."
“We fight like hell and if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.”
"Now it is up to Congress to confront this egregious assault on our democracy. And after this, we’re going to walk down, and I’ll be there with you. We are going to try and give them the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country.”

You avoided answering my question I see. Do you support charging the leaders of Chaz/Chop with seditious conspiracy? Everything that they did falls with in the law of seditious conspiracy as defined in the OP and in post# 11.

First world USA problems, a seditious conspiracy is basically an old disabled man fantasizing about it, unaffiliated with many of the participants who actually stormed the place and they want us to take it seriously. We then look around the world to actual, violent coups taking place and yeah it looks like a picnic.

No one denies that these people committed a crime. But what this jury partially agreed to, and the government's position will always be laughable.

I don't remember much about it.
I know the group set up a camp in Seattle? Did they have some kind of approval from the city?
I never paid close attention to that situation.

CNN reports, "On Tuesday, Stewart Rhodes, founder of the right-wing militia group Oath Keepers, was convicted by a jury in Washington, DC, of seditious conspiracy for his role planning and orchestrating the January 6, 2021 US Capitol insurrection.

"Rhodes and four other alleged members of the group faced several charges and each one of the defendants was found guilty of at least one charge in the trial. Prosecutors said they had pre-planned their part in the siege including the use of military “stack” formations to wedge their way through the mob and into Congress’ hallowed halls.

The verdicts confirm a core truth: The violent assault that day was designed, not “spontaneous.” The mob was led, and by those committed to disorder, whatever the cost in bloodshed.

"This is a monumental win for the Justice Department, even though the jury acquitted three alleged Oath Keepers of seditious conspiracy. But having found that the leader is guilty of that extraordinary crime is what matters most.

"A seditious conspiracy means that Rhodes and Meggs agreed to forcibly obstruct the execution of the laws of the United States by which presidential authority transfers from one party to the other at the pivotal moment of our constitutional government."

“We’re going to walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women. You have to show strength, and you have to be strong.”

It was a BLM group that took over several blocks in Seattle (think it was 5-6). They refused to let any cops into the area and the police station that was there was even evacuated and left empty and boarded up during the time they had control over the area. They wouldn't even let cops into the area when people were shot. They stated that that area was autonomous and no longer even a part of the US. Even had two signs up at one barricaded intersection, one saying "Welcome to the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone" and the other saying "You are now leaving the USA".

And no, they didn't have any sort of permits or the like.

All I can know are the results and more and more we’re seeing verdicts that don’t reflect the facts.

This is quoted from the original post of the person who created this thread. "This puts Trump at even more risk of his involvement in the insurrection as now it has been proven that the attack on the Capitol was a seditious act".

But I think Trump will face the music when the primaries are concluded and DeSantis wins. Then he will cry even more and more and more and more and more and more and more and more.

Okay, but what does that have to do with the law?
For what he did, he'll get a max. sentence of 20 years or less, and time off for time already served and some reduced time possibly for good behavior. The sentence has to fit the crime.

Why do you keep responding? Not to belabor my point again, but the numbers of troublemakers were relatively small compared to the whole of the crowd.

You can have the last word if you'd like.

I don't think he will even get to the primaries. He may be convinced by the party to not run. Just some speculation on my part.

Lol, yes, it is very much about Trump. It would behoove you to actually read the O/P.

I think he'll face some music well before the official 2024 primaries kick off. I just don't believe there will be criminal charges for anything that EXCLUSIVELY happened on 1/6.

The punishment for his actions (and inactions) on 1/6 should be (and should have already been) political, not criminal... I suspect some combination of fallout from that day and the rise of Governor Death as a slightly more sane option will finally end his single fluke win political career by mid 2024.

Around the coup attempt on 1/6? Nothing... I've been pretty clear on that throughout, although for the ultimate optimist, a charge on interfering with a governmental process wouldn't completely be mind blowing... he did send his supporters to the Capitol (with street directions) during a governmental process....

If you are referring to the many other investigations, those potential charges have been covered to death... find a thread and do some reading..

You can't charge him with interfering he didn't interfere he said go there and make your voices heard which is our right as Americans. He didn't say go over there and stop the process. Didn't tell anybody to interfere at all.

So again what would you charge him for besides imaginary interference because you can't really charge someone with imaginary crimes

Well, again, look at the word "nothing"... I've said since day 1 he will face no LEGAL charges for his actions (and inactions) specifically on 1/6. Don't know how to make that any clearer....

Won't matter... Once this clown show gets done with Trump... they will just start over again with DeSantis... Some woman from 70 years ago will claim DeSantis kissed her when she didn't want him to.... and it will all start over again... but with DeSantis.

What actions? Telling people to make their voices heard you think that means go over throw the government?

They can't just be actions in your imagination they have to have really happened
