Exactly!... and that should have been part of the political consequences of his favorite day of his terrible presidency....

Anyone who is very popular with the right gets demonized. It's all they know how to do because they sure as hell can't beat them on the issues.

    I didn't say permits, I said permission.
I guess they didn't get permission ahead of time, but the fact they were allowed to stay for weeks hints towards an after the fact permission.

Should those leaders receive some punishment? Sure. But nothing as serious as seditious conspiracy.
Did anyone get hurt or killed? If so, harsher punishment for those who are responsible.

Which facts did the jurors get wrong?
And how did they get them wrong? Or was the defense so bad, they didn't present the facts in a good enough fashion.
What facts do you have that the jurors don't have?

Thx, I will. We've been in agreement with the number of protesters involved in the take over of the capitol to hundreds.

The sentence will fit the crime when it's 20 years and more, not less. What the oath keepers did January 6,2021 was uncalled for and it was wrong. That's all I'm going to say at this time.

Can you show me where 20 years or more fits this particular federal crime?

My source says 20 years MAX.

Why is it criminal to tell people to make their voices heard go out there and exercise your first amendment right?

All I know is that Rhodes is going to be locked up for a long time, whether or not it's 20 years less or more doesn't really matter. All I know is that he'll be locked up for a long time and that's all I'm going to say for now.

The idea that Rhodes and his crew were plotting to take over the government by “walking in a stack formation” is absurd and the jury knew it was absurd because only Rhodes and one other guy were convicted of that. The reason they were convicted appears to have more to do with hyperbolic text messages than anything else.

Those 2, IMO, were the leaders of the plan that was in place. But never put into motion.
That's why the other 3 were given lesser convictions. IMO.

It's ultimately up to him if he can ever be trusted again. Maybe given the max sentence will turn him around. Do you think our justice system works?

And while we're on that subject, how can anyone expect that less than a thousand would be able to stage a coup?

I get the conspiracy to commit sedition charge for a few, but let's not get carried away. There was so insurrection on 1/6. No revolution, no mutiny. The conspiracy to commit sedition resulted in a violent riot. I doubt most there who overreacted even knew of Rhodes and his cohorts' plans.

Maybe and maybe not. It all depends on the individual on whatever.

Precisely. That's the reason I countered your idea that Rhodes could never be trusted again. It's ultimately up to him if he can ever be trusted again after being incarcerated in a federal prison.

Those that commit crimes, go against the justice system and they break the laws in this land. When one commits a crime, they should pay for it. That makes sense doesn't it?
