I like that one. Its real funny. Germany hates this WC, the papers were full of boycotting Katar. Really hate full. Now that Germany is out, it is a Katastrophy, Disaster. . In a way deserved
There was another one about putting towels on the seats to reserve the places on the plane home but I wasn't sure if it would translate into American so I left it.
USA could come back from this if they don't let NL score again. I was halfway through typing the above and NL made it 2-0
If you make a political statement like this, you better win the game. Otherwise you make a fool out of yourself. It is ironic, that this game cost the advance
I think they know USA aren't going to be able to take their chances so they don't care if they have more possession or territory. They can just play on the counter attack. Like you say, clinical.
US vs Netherland. I think the US played rather good, tried very hard, got a goal and fought to the very end. Excellent spirit. Netherland has just the clinic ability to score, was just 1 number to big. But the US is getting there with this team Sorry @CenterField and Talon, I think I can say, I understand how disappoint you guys are. At least CF, Monte and I still have something to root for. The world greatest, holder of all records, most arrogant and brilliant Senior citizen of football, Ever, I present you CR7, HE, even created a new category of scoring, The Hair Spray Goal. Gooooooooooooooooo CR7. ( nurses dancing, light show, flowers and confetti, walkers and wheelchairs in the air )
Oh well, the Netherlands do have a much better team than ours. Our boys tried hard and generally did well but there is a gap of quality they couldn't get over. Better luck next time, four years more experienced, and at home. ------ Argentina only advanced thanks to a huge blunder by the Australian goalie.
The gauchos are ruthless, they use black magic like the Hand of God and a Goat, they always trick you, blind you. Those short legged come out of deep of the Pampa and you never know when they hit you. Argentine was bad, again, my grandma is crying in her grave.
Tomorrow will be interesting. Asia against South America and Europe. I think, very close games with possible upset. @Center Field, Brazil will have a real fight coming up, Japan is not used to give it up I heard Brazil has a very long injury list, what did you hear.
You forgot Senegal from Africa. It's a part of the former Yugoslavia I think. My geography's not very good.
It's South Korea, not Japan. Brazil has had two important subs (Gabriel Jesus and Alex Telles) sent home due to injury. Jesus will need knee surgery, will be 3 months out. Telles will be six weeks out with a knee injury. The other three injured players, Neymar (ankle sprain and ligament inflammation), Danilo (ankle sprain), and Alex Sandro (hip/muscle contusion) are day to day, but there is strong hope that Neymar will be able to play at least some minutes against South Korea, and Danilo should be able to play. I do not know of other injuries except these five. I do not believe there are others, because no other is being reported by the Brazilian press, and I read their articles regularly, including a few minutes ago.
I don't think Argentina will survive once they face a truly good team. I believe they will lose to the Netherlands. Brazil is in a tricky situation due to injury. I do believe that Brazil when 100% can beat anyone but the most essential thing is whether or not Neymar will be able to play, and who can play left back due to injuries in that sector. If Brazil can survive the game against South Korea (which should not be underestimated) and more players recover from injury, then they become again a title contender. I thought that the USMNT had honorable participation. We were the only Concacaf team to advance out of the group phase. We had several good stretches of play in all four games. We were hindered by bad decisions by the coach (mostly being too conservative, and bringing in subs that made the team worse rather than better), and by a couple of essential players not being 100% in good physical form, such as McKennie and Reyna. We had some unlucky breaks with missed scoring opportunities, but we did play well against two soccer world powers, England and the Netherlands (to the latter we did concede three essential defending mistakes that they clinically capitalized upon in scoring their 3 goals but otherwise we played fairly well, and after we scored our goal and made it 2-1, we had a couple of opportunities to make it level). We certainly weren't a horrible team. Even though we only scored 3 goals and only won one game, we kept two clean sheets and still reached the stage that is reserved for the top 16 countries in the world, and this is honorable. I'll take any day what we did, versus what Canada did, despite Canada having won the Concacaf qualifiers. They had an awful participation. Ours wasn't so bad, and wasn't bad either for the second youngest team of the tournament (only behind Ghana in the matter of average age). Getting to the 2022 WC's round of 16, something that Italy (not even there), Germany, Belgium, and Uruguay couldn't accomplish, is honorable for such a young team.
Agree. They did you proud. Only really missing some finishing skills or you might even have beaten NL.
