The more and more people are depending on electricity for transportation the closer and closer the coal fired power plants will be. It's a simple land usage issue.

You don't have a point here.

Ford is still scaling their ability to build EVs. They are WAY WAY behind demand.

You can't claim that is an indication that people don't want these vehicles.

Lots of word salad without a discernible argument.

I suspect they intend to be behind demand to minimize their losses when demand collapses.

You can not possibly support that.

Tesla created this market and leads by a mile - and not just in the USA.

    And, they don't advertise.

I don't get your logic. There is no need for coal fired power plants.

Lol. Twice you've asked me to explain the stats, twice I've told you that they came from "your side" and yet you still keep going on about me providing proof of the stats! ICE fire rates are around 100 times the rate of EV fires. You clearly do not understand the definition of "rate"

you just saying that because I'm arguing against you and this is bad technique.
because they know what crap they are.
I didn't claim there weren't people who wanted these vehicles there's a sucker born every minute.

It's just the percentage of them that they produce is statistical zero.

Again there are lies there are damned lies and then there are statistics learn what that means.

If you don't know anything just so you don't know anything.

Twitching on to a braindead stat that you read in an article somewhere isn't an argument

Not really. If you scale up this effort to build something that is only a fad that is a terrible business model.

Yeah there is. So in order for electric cars to be viable you have to have fast charging four fast chargers use the same amount of energy it's 230 homes.

California was talking about installing 150 million fast chargers that will mean they require six times the electricity they use now.

electricity isn't magical pixies that just come out of your wall socket you have to burn a fossil to make it. And right now we don't produce enough electricity to fulfill our needs.

So abandoning in an abundant political resource to then use one that stretched to the very margins is logistical suicide.

LOL - you just keep coming up with the most ridiculous ideas, while giving NOTHING in support.

Ford, Tesla and others are investing GIGANTIC sums in building factories to produce EVs.

So far, there are 7 Tesla manufacturing plants.

Tesla has single plants that can produce over 300,000 cars per year.

Tesla Fremont builds a little over 1,700 cars per day.

GigaShanghi is about to increase to 750,000 cars per year.

And, they are still investing in faster production rates.

How slow are you! Argue with the poster in this thread. He provided the stats. How many times do I have to tell you this before it sinks in?

It's hilarious that the other poster's stars said that ICE fire rates were about 100 times the fire rate of EVs then you post that the actual figure should be about 500 which clearly shows you have no idea what the word "rate" means

If you are trying to sell a fad you will want to sell as quickly as possible before the novelty wears off.

There are NO car manufacturers who think this is a fad.

They ALL say that EV is the future.

Of course there will be a progression. Changes that huge can't happen overnight. So, ICE sales will gradually decrease with some models filling uses that aren't addressed by EVs and the ICE used car market will continue.

If you don't agree, you should come up with a pretty darn strongly supported argument, as those in the auto biz do tend to know what they are talking about.

resorting to ad hominem is pathetic.
you were the one trying to argue with me about them.

if you don't have the first clue about the stats or the discussion why you posting about it?
    Posturing is weak.

What car manufacturer is choosing not to be involved?

yeah they're under a threat of government.

they need to do what they're told or the government will put them out of business that's not capitalism.
I've worked on cars long enough to know that manufacturers are professional liars. If you knew the first thing about this industry you would know never to believe what they say.
so they'll decrease from dismal to terrible?
I don't argue with marketing that's a gimmick that you fell for. They will tell you anything to get you to give them money.

I think I'm committing a blasphemy in your religion.

If you can't handle someone questioning your beliefs then maybe you shouldn't be talking about them on a public forum.
