Guys, lets be a little more honest here. Whenever I see news coverage of a war that lasts months and months, I know there are at least some attrocities embarrassments, incompetence, and losses on both sides. and I expect to see them in objective coverage. When I have to search a lot harder to find any legitimate stories that reflect those embarrassments, losses and episodes of cruelty on one side, it means either a lack of access to sources and documents, or lack of interest in covering them by either reporters, editors or owners of media. The coverage we are seeing of this conflict, among major media does show some signs of a pro Ukrainian bias and if we are prudent consumers of their product, we will recognise that possibility.

Russkis have always "hated" America.....but have no issues sending their offspring to our colleges and universities, spending vacations at Disneyland, buying properties at South Beach, etc, etc.

Maybe there are just a lot less atrocities from Ukrainian side? They fight on their territory, after all. Or your wired logic says, that there should be equal amount of atrocities?

Yeah....Girkin is one of those "tools" in the tool chest used by the top echelons to do dirty work.....basically expendable with deniability when/if things go wrong.

Mongrels like him don't get anywhere NEAR any important inner circle decision making.

Putin might care but assassinate him and the next person in charge may not care.

No. I don't believe there is likely to be 'equal number'. I think its entirely likely that there are fewer from one side or another. just as it may be likely that there are more impediments to good reporting of incidents on one side of a moving combat zone, or more effective 'PR' campaign efforts by one side than another, to manipulate stories or turn narratives to promote their propaganda. There is zero doubt in me that the Ukrainians have been incredibly effective at handling western media and news outlets to its advantage.

It behooves journalists to work all the harder to overcome those obstacles to the truth and the truth is people behave like savages in war. The truth is retribution is a real thing when territory is retaken. Ukrainians would have to behave far more saintly than anyone else has in time of war, under similar circumstances. Instead, I believe there are PLENTY of stories of retribution, torture and violence to be told and we just have not gotten them yet.

I don't see a conspiracy here because I also believe in a 'pack mentality' among western media which wants to give us more stories like ones we have proven to like. Insofar as we poll as though we see Russia and Putin as the villain and Zelinsky as a hero and the Ukrainian people as couragious, we are likely to click on stories that reflect and reenforce our preexisting view than those that challenge it and producers of news coverage know that.

I think to deny those market and human forces exist and impact western media coverage in just this instance and this war, and that they might cumulatively have an impact in our perception, is to be naive. I don't believe in naivity.

Listening to the Pentagon talk about how Russian is weakening reminds me of the same lies we were told about the North Vietnamese and how the B-52 was going to be the game changer. What is being said about the Abrams tank? It will be a game changer?

Don't see any pack mentality here, if Russian side started aggressive war, if Russian soldiers killed hundreds and thousands of unarmed people including children, if Russian strategy is to left without electricity, water and medical care millions of peoples, than of course every journalist will write about this. They should not, or what?

Being retired Air Force I am not familiar with details of tanks. We had tankers but ours had wings and flew. Thanks

U.S. closer to approving ‘significant number’ of Abrams tanks to Ukraine

    Alexander Ward and Lara Seligman
Tue, January 24, 2023 at 11:18 AM CST

The Biden administration is leaning toward sending “a significant number” of M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine, two U.S. officials said, and an announcement could come as early as this week.

The development comes amid a public standoff with German officials, who are under pressure to send their own Leopard tanks and allow other European countries that operate the German-made vehicles to do so as well.

On Tuesday, shortly after news broke of the possible U.S. move, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that German Leopards were heading to Ukraine. Last week, Scholz told U.S. lawmakers that Berlin would approve the transfer only if the U.S. donated its own tanks first.
