The limping impotence of the failing MAGA crowd on full display.

Despite Trump's call to figurative arms in defense of his alleged criminality, in this case, the violent coup crew seems nowhere to be seen, and the few members of the Trump religion who showed up were crowded out by folks that think Trump shoudl actually be subjected to laws of our country.

That has to leave a mark on the bloated and unwarranted ego of Trump.

    https://www.politico.com/news/2023/...tan-crowded-out-by-anti-trump-rivals-00088099

Demonstrators who want a Donald Trump indictment far outnumbered MAGA supporters Tuesday morning outside the Manhattan Criminal Court, where the former president is expected to be charged as early as Wednesday.

The pro-indictment protesters gathered in front of the building where Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is investigating Trump over a hush-money payment made to Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign.

No one is above the law, ” the group of about 20 demonstrators chanted.

“Alvin Bragg do your job!” they yelled.

Despite Trump’s prediction Saturday that he would be arrested Tuesday and his call for supporters to “protest,” the courthouse was relatively quiet Tuesday as the grand jury on the probe only sits on Mondays and Wednesdays. Jurors heard what was believed to be the final witness Monday before they vote on an indictment.

Across the street from the anti-Trump rally, five supporters of the former president walked around holding signs including one that highlighted liberal billionaire George Soros support for Bragg, a common right-wing talking point. Trump has used a $500,000 donation from a political action committee funded by Soros that was part of a nationwide effort to help elect progressive district attorneys.

Can't some of Trump's supporters talk him into retiring to Mar-a-lago permanently, and staying out of the news?
This is just getting more embarrassing.

It’s Manhattan. Trump has been hated in NYC for years. Those poor people have had to put up with the orange stain for years before he became a national figure. Also, Trumpism is waining, but those left are so radical that they make for good TV (re:news). Trumpers are getting fewer and fewer every day, but the ones who are left are are loud and more radical.

This is born out in that even politicians from his own party these days are distancing themselves from him. Yes, there are a few cult members left, Jim Jordan, Bobert, MTG who are trying to defend him, but they do that because it is politically expedient for them. Jordan, Bobert, and MTG are all from very heavily gerrymandered districts and need the Republican vote to get re-elected, thus they support anything “right”, and hopefully will get re-elected. Republicans have been cursing and calling Trump out for years, but they always did it in private, but in public they towed the republican line so they could get election funds.

The Republican Party leadership is trying to distance themselves from the MAGA crowd, but are doing it slowly to make sure they don’t alienate even a small subset of voters as they know that would cost them the election

That's good. Every Trump supporter there needs to leave. When the trouble starts, we'll know who to blame.

There is really NO chance we see meaningful pro trump protests in NYC.

If Georgia indicts him, it's going to be wild.

I’m going to guess that the reason why the anti Trumpers didn’t violently attack the two Trump supporters was because there was only 20 of them.

Fine with me, especially the part about CNN and MSNBC going out of business.

They probably feared for their safety. Liberal counter protesters are well known for their violent assaults

One isolated event versus a summertime of Nationwide riots. Doesn't begin to remotely compare

You are right. There is no comparison.

The violence from Trump supporters was aimed at reversing the outcome of an election. It was aimed at preventing the winning presidential candidate from being confirmed. It was aimed at installing the loser, and replacing democracy with autocracy. It was fundamentally anti-American.

The violence you are talking about was more widespread and lasted longer but was not aimed at overthrowing American democracy. It was not a threat to the government.

Oh wow, it wasn't a threat to the government, so the tens of thousands of dollars of city damages and vandalism to small businesses(who Democrats claim to be for) is perfectly okay! Hardly. Had the government responded to those earlier summer threats, the way Trump wanted them to respond(and the way they responded in the past, and certainly on 1/6) then there wouldn't have been a 1/6 to begin with.

What the government apparatus is telling us then, is that the government is more important than the civilians of the country. Such an anti-democratic view of the world by Washington.

By design.... In 2023, the FEWER protestors that show up, the more powerful the statement...

    SNIP
NEW YORK — The leadership of the New York Young Republican Club, a far-right group, wants to be very clear: It’s actually a good thing that only a handful of Donald Trump supporters showed up to the pro-Trump rally held Monday outside the Manhattan district attorney’s office.

“We purposefully kept it small,” the club’s president, Gavin Wax, told HuffPost.

“I would prefer a lower turnout,” said Troy Olson, sergeant-at-arms.

20 whole people with TDS out numbered the apparent "cult" of Trump supporters?

    No ****.

When the alt reality the left lives in, that they created in their head, doesn't live up to expectations... they see that as a win?

Complete bullshit. Jan 6 was a foregone conclusion once trump lost the election and started his seditious whining.

Why would anyone ask, since you voluntarily offered the info? Still, it sounds like something a leftie might do, since they have trouble paying attention to details.

Not sure about the point of protesting (for, or against) in NYC, when Trump lives in liberal West Palm Beach in Florida.

Of course when Trump asked for people to protest, he didn't say where. Maybe he expected nationwide protests to support him, and now we only have a handful in NYC. That's good. Stay home folks, - both sides.
